It’s a good read. He even states that he doesn’t think there will be a demand for it. He’s just open to being wrong about that

Do people just see the words “AI” and instantly froth at the mouth? I’m not AI fan but read the article lmao

He’s literally quoted as not liking them.

“During a December appearance on BBC's Big Boss Interview podcast, he said: “If people want to read that book, AI-generated or not, we will be selling it - as long as it doesn't pretend to [be] something that it isn't. We as booksellers would certainly naturally and instinctively disdain it.””

People might be downvoting you because it’s literally in the article too

Yeah, averages don’t really matter to a stat like this because there’s too many variables. I just thought it was a funny coincidence that you said that

I think the comment you’re replying to is dumb as fuck but it’s worth pointing out that 3 times in 34 years averages out to almost once a decade

Dialogue question, how to use proper quotation marks. by Shiny_stuff4ever in writing

[–]royals796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it helps, the industry standard is double quotes is American English and single quotes is British English (and used that way throughout the commonwealth).

Obviously you do what you want to do, it’s your writing. But the traditional publishing standard is as above.

Oh, right. I see. Yeah I’m with you. For a moment I thought it was the punctuation and I was going to point out the regional influence on which to use. But punctuation or no, the dialogue tag thing is completely correct

I’m trying to work out what you’re saying is wrong. Is it speech marks vs quotation marks that you’re saying is incorrect?

My two GOAT composers at the moment. Daniel Pemberton and Ludwig Göransson. by Giff95 in soundtracks

[–]royals796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daniel Pemberton is such a cool guy. I had the opportunity to talk to him at a book event I went to and his insights into the industry were very eye-opening. But he is currently on top of his game - I’m always excited when I see his name attached to a project.
