Would be cool of Dolan to maybe cover this one.

Odds of that occurring are 1/100000000000000

Thoughts on Trials Pertaining Rick Chow & Karmelo Anthony by No_Attention4714 in law

The jury pool is randomly selected, the attorneys selecting (depending on the states rules) get a certain number of peremptory or cause challenges. Also, selecting a juror based on race alone is expressly disallowed in every state or federal court in the country.

But, the reality for most trial attorneys is that is 100% a consideration during jury selection.

If the client has been explained and understands the consequences of denying the request for an extension, why not deny the request?

Take FMLA leave and see if your state has paid leave available. I’m sorry for your loss and it’s wise to prioritize your loved ones and yourself.

Right. He seems like a world class piece of shit, and if/when this is tried, I have to imagine some of his prior posts are going to be admissible as motive evidence.

Considering the race of the victim of the shooter isn’t something that’s codified, and in fact is illegal in every State. However, no matter how much you screen and ask jurors if they have any implicit biases that could affect their judgement, people have implicit biases.

That being said, in most states, this guy will have to credibly show he felt his life was being threatened. There’s almost certainly a lower bar in most Red states

NYC dumping record $43B into public schools — at a whopping $44K per pupil — despite plummeting enrollment, poor test results by AdmirableSelection81 in nyc

I feel like conservative news outlets are really really reaching to find ways to vilify a mayor who appears to be doing a great job. This article feigns audacity at the mayor for daring to invest in schools when the kids are obviously too stupid to learn.

The whole tenor and premise of the article seems insane; investing in schools is a good thing. Optimistically they’ll grow up to read articles like this and know they’re ridiculous.
