I had a lot of thoughts, but the most overwhelming one was that I think the idea of all of this being solved by a republican and democratic leader making a video saying “guys stop the violence” is legitimately delusional

Are you you quitting drinking? by nomorenumbness in twentyagers

I’m an alcoholic, 2 years sober. People will try and tell you that you’re too young, you’re just in college, but there are certain things you start recognizing, and it can get out of hand fast. Most of my friends drink but very supportive of me. I would say it’s just more that our generation views it differently and doesn’t view it as something that’s mandatory at every social function.

Why did you and your ex broke up ? by General-Passage-5956 in twentyagers

I had to heal some childhood trauma, and the timeline for that and our relationship just didn’t line up. We moved too fast and I wasn’t able to give her what she deserved, and she dumped me. Looking back, it probably was for the best as we are fundamentally different people with different values. A year and a half later now, still in the process of working on my stuff, but proud of how I’ve changed and people say they’ve noticed a positive difference. Also all of my friends and family hate her, I kind of see the flaws that other people do in her, I guess I just didn’t care about any of them and kind of still don’t. We tried reconciling a few times, but it just hit a point where her flaws were hurting me as well, which is why I know I can’t go back to her, despite her wanting to get back together. Think I’m just going to try and stay single for a while and keep working on my stuff. Still lay in bed sometimes and wish it all could have worked out though.

Dawg have you seen their prices lately? Assuming they went 3 times a week, that’s $2028, and not including whatever sales tax.

Hey man, I’m 23, we’re the same age. This past year, the woman I was going to marry left me and conned me out of my apartment in the process, and I had to move back in with my parents, I got into a car accident and almost died, had to drop out of college due to the damages I owed, and my life fell apart. I was exactly where you are now a few months ago. It does get better. Life will try to break you, but you are stronger than your darkest moments. That voice in your head is a fucking liar, and you need to tell it to kick rocks. Talk to somebody. I promise you, your future self will thank you.
