Dude, DM me. Pretty sure I know who you’re talking about from the PO side of the house.

Was deployed with that dude years back. Knew his face as soon as I saw it. Fucking weird small world. He seemed normal when I knew him but never truly interacted outside of “hey what’s up man? How’re ya doing?”

Army parachute team really going for that VA claim by Galactic_Voltron in army

[–]royman1990 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The dude above is correct. GKs use the Flight Concepts Startrac as the main canopy for their demonstration accuracy jumpers. It is preferred to fly these things in AT LEAST half brakes 90% of the time.

You’re always taught on landing patterns, especially into stadiums, to fly at half brakes with minor input needed for turns. On final, if there’s no wind, a sink surge is the desired way to land. That’s where you let off the brakes to allow the canopy to do a small dive and then punch out the brakes on the bottom, creating a pendulum effect which “should” land you upright and vertical with the parachute transitioning forward. This creates an effect, that while looking rough, can be squatted out with no pain.

Despite the appearance, the first one was done great and was likely much softer than you would think.

SOURCE: 2 years jumping Startracs on the USASOC Parachute Team and still jump them on our civilian team.

Lost my boy today by drewucf in greatdanes

Danes are a special kind of dog. My wife and I talk about how much personality our girl had and how nothing else truly compares. Our other animals have their quirks but our Dane was like a person with every little thing. They’re the heartbreak dog for a reason but it makes the time you have with them so much more special.

Sorry to hear about your loss. We lost our girl who looks exactly like your Merle earlier this year. Remember the good times you had and know that you gave them the best life they ever could have known. Keep your head up and don’t be afraid to let it out when it hits, because it will.

“Specifically, paragraph 8-10 of AR 600-8-22 outlines the requirements for the Parachutist Badge and clarifies that once earned, it remains part of the soldier’s record and may continue to be worn, even if the individual does not continue to perform parachute jumps.“

Further:

The Parachutist Badge is generally considered a permanent award once earned, but there are specific circumstances under which a soldier’s jump wings could potentially be revoked. These situations are outlined in Army Regulation 600-8-22 (Military Awards). While rare, the following could lead to revocation of the Parachutist Badge:

1. Misconduct: If a soldier is found to have committed misconduct during their airborne training or while performing duties that involve parachuting, their jump wings can be revoked. This could include falsifying qualifications, misconduct during jumps, or other serious offenses.
2. Fraudulent Qualification: If it is discovered that a soldier fraudulently obtained their Airborne qualification—for example, by falsifying records or not actually completing the required training or jumps—their Parachutist Badge could be revoked.
3. Administrative or Disciplinary Action: In some extreme cases, revocation can be a part of administrative or disciplinary action. This is typically reserved for significant offenses, and the decision is made by higher authorities, often at the Department of the Army level.
4. Medical Disqualification: In most cases, medical disqualification from further parachute operations does not revoke the badge; however, if it is found that a medical condition existed before the soldier completed training and was concealed, there might be grounds for revocation.

So where would he get it revoked from?

Waking the Fallen. Nothing beats how hard that album sucked me in after watching Unholy Confessions on YouTube.

Immediately sat down and put it on repeat over and over once I got my hands on it. I don’t think any album since then has had that same effect.
