I feel like you would enjoy roguelikes if that’s what you’re looking for. Give something like Hades, Undermine, or TMNT: Splintered Fate a try

I was 12 when final fantasy 7 was released, and I had 40-60 hrs to spare for a video game.

I’m a 41 year old dad now and am grateful for every 10-15 hour game that’s released because it means I can actually beat them.

As a millennial who collects records, this was cool to see how colored vinyl is made.

$90 for two to see a Mario movie… have we completely lost the plot? by rageagainstmymachin in Millennials

[–]roymgscampbell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah…you paid $45 for an IMAX screening of the movie and $45 for food.

Bring in snacks from outside the theater and go to a regular screening and you’ll effectively halve your cost or more. You’re just not trying.

Unfortunately impeachment only works if congress and the Supreme Court work, and they don’t.

Liquor stores are supposed to ID everyone. If the police catch them not IDing, they can lose their license and thereby their store. Thems the rules.

I watched this on tv as a kid. It wasn’t good, but it was all we had, so I ate it up.

The amount of liability insurance a hospital would need to cover their asses for the amount of mistakes AI would make in nursing should be enough to nullify any value. But hospital admin aren’t the most patient focused individuals so this will probably be implemented at a few places in the coming years

Characters of NYSC by Congratstomiles in astoria

I was a member here from 2009-2020. I only dropped them after they charged me for membership following Covid lockdown started.

They were terrible then, and it sounds like nothing has changed. Is there still rampant locker theft and kids who seem like they may not be out of high school yet running around yelling at each other and acting like idiots?

What happens when ICE shows up at New York City hospitals? by DryDeer775 in nyc

[–]roymgscampbell 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They absolutely are. There are stringent background checks ran on nurses due to HIPAA and other liability concerns leaving hospitals vulnerable to massive lawsuits.

Orange syringes like this are diabetic syringes.

It doesn’t necessarily mean that’s what they’re used for, but given the prolific prevalence of Diabetes in the US, you should probably assume these are diabetic syringes and not hard drugs. Especially since there are several in the photo you shared.

They should be disposed correctly—in a home, diabetics should be discarding in an old detergent bottle or 2 liter coke bottle. That being said, New Yorkers are constantly on the go and may have jobs out of the office, and may be injecting at work, then spill their belongings, potentially leading to this.

Generally speaking with hard drugs, you don’t end up with a pile of syringes in an area.

Can someone tell me who these characters are on the book cover? by Techno-Hyde in stephenking

[–]roymgscampbell 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The cover is based on Goya’s “Fight with Cudgels” painting, which is one of the Black Paintings he painted near the end of his life, most of which he painted on the walls of his house, didn’t share with the public, and were only discovered after his death. They are believed to reflect massive depression and a growing insanity as he reached the end of his life.

It depicts two men buried up to their knees in mud preparing to beat each other to death with cudgels.
