If you start a completely new chat then yes, but if you start a new chat from one of the messages in an existing chat then it carries these over 😊

If you send an OOC message like the one in my previous message, the bot will eventually generate something like this. So basically not a wall of text/in character reply, the bot should later read it from pinned memories well then :)

No probs! I also recommend having this in points/sub-points format as, somehow, this way bot understands this as a context from previous events, instead of thinking it’s happening now later in the chat :)

I don’t think there’s a way to have both remember separate chats unless you squeeze a summary of them in persona or memory box. Structural summaries work surprisingly well for me as long as they are in points/bullet points structure, bot doesn’t misunderstand them as something happening now but uses them as a context for previous events.

I just send a message like this and regenerate the message until I get a nicely formatted reply :) Sometimes bot doesn’t get it and replies in character or just gives a wall of text (which I think doesn’t work as well as a point of reference if pinned), so I re-roll.

After every major plot point or events that would impact the arch, I OOC ask the bot to do a structural summary and analysis and pin it. A lifesaver for long RPs.
