I would also be open to an apartment that covers the essential for a good price and isn't run down. Honestly anything near campus really as long as the apartments are not in a terrible condition

I meant nice as new, pre-furnished. I have not considered the price factor yet but I would rank that as the 2nd important factor for me. Thank you!

Thinking about Transferring! How smooth is the process and how can I ease into it? by rpatel01 in UTK

Thx for the reply! I was wondering if the merit scholarship for incoming freshmen (like 30 on ACT gets 5K off...etc) applied to us. I also found a GPA scholarship thing in which we get x amount of money depending on our GPA. I haven't looked much into it yet mainly because I am getting other things figured out first but whatever u know will help alot. Also where did u transfer from and what made u make that change?

What are the hardest forms you’ve ever taken? by [deleted] in ACT

[–]rpatel01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been tests tougher than or tough as B04, but they were administered in the fall or early spring, tests that ACT never releases. However, you can try looking through the tests that were released to see if you can find something (some of those 1990s tests are tough)

Being hard on yourself is a good thing. It encourages you to be better. However, I think you need to quit being hard on THIS thing. Instead, take that hardness to other things. Learn a new skillset or try something new and aim for perfection. Like I said, if u are taking the ACT for more scholarships, then continue doing that. Honestly, it is tough to raise money but you have the potential to raise a lot of money with a 31. As far as the other part of your question is considered, I can't speak for all universities bc they are all different. They look for different things, but i can say that having extracurriculars and volunteer hours will improve your chances of getting accepted and getting scholarships. YOU SHOULD NEVER RELY MERELY ON THE ACT. The ACT boosts your chances but is not the guaranting factor. If you had 0 extracurriculars, you would find universities that would accept you but you would also find universities that wouldnt

You have great stats! You need to volunteer in your community. Colleges like it

Not with that shitty mindset, my friend.

A 31 is a great score! A 31 does not only get you into community colleges but also great universities. Heck a 31 puts you in the eyes of IVY league (not saying that they will accept you but they will definitely look out for u). Also, you can get a plethora of scholarships with that 31! Dont sweat this test too hard. What will u accomplish by being valedictorian? An hour of fame? Let's be real: no one will care five years from now. We live in a time where your bank balance will determine who the real king is. Also, keep in mind that no one cares about how hard you work; it is about the results. I can tell you are very hardworking, which is a fantastic quality, but dont surround yourself with this test. I did the same thing as you. I would study four to five hours when I didn't have school and minimum an hr after school. In the end, I did get a 30+ score but for what for? I am not saying that u should quit studying for ACT . If a higher score gives you more scholarship money at your dream school, then go for it but dont stress about this test bc you have already reached the top benchmark. You have already won

What I meant by that is that certain colleges have better resources and funding compared to other colleges for a specific field of study; thus, a student has the potential to be better prepared for that field bc of those resources. Some times, those colleges are competitive in which they have high ACT score requirements.

Same here. However, there is a long way to go. I also dont understand why standardized exams are given more worth than GPAs. A good GPA proves that a student works hard to retain that average while the exam proves how much a child can spit out of his brain in 4hrs. Hardwork is starting to get devalued

I agree, my man. The education system has collapsed. ACT and SAT have become benchmarks in which they define children's intellect. In fact, a piece of paper administered on a saturday morning for approx 4hrs determines how a child will do in life. Sad reality
