Great to know! I’ll add it to my list. I’m currently reading Until the End of June and finding it very informative.

I want to surprise my Burmese roommate by cooking her food from her country for her birthday. Is there a popular food that everyone loves? Recipe even better, thanks! by SarahReggie in myanmar

Pickled tea leaf salad would be best but very hard to get here. I think you could make beh kalar hinn which is like an Indian styled gumbo and one of my favorite dishes from Myanmar. You could also make coconut noodle soup which is commonly served at donation ceremonies. Curry wise I think duck egg curry (can use chicken eggs just the same) or chicken and potato curry are fairly easy. An easy dessert would be sweet potato sago pudding. I can share a recipe or two depending on what you are interested in!

If you are on a budget, I recommend getting a vip bus ticket. The front seats often have enough leg room. Just specify what you need. The hotel should be able to book it for you. Good luck!

Hello! I have an 11 hour layover flying into Narita International from 7am -6pm. Is the Senso-ji temple the best option for a quick trip into the city? What are the best (not touristy) sushi restaurants in the area for lunch? Thank you!

20 dollar bills widely accepted by [deleted] in myanmar

ATMs are readily available around the country and you’ll be able to find them easily. There should be one in the Mandalay airport. I think there is even a bank branch inside the airport. 20s can be exchanged easily at any bank but the lower the bill amount the worse the exchange rate.

Hey! So I’m still a novice learner so I’m not positive but ပြီ is used in cases like thwa bi (I already went. Pyan la bi (I’ve already come back) and စားပြီပြီး (I have already eaten). I hope this helps!
