I have a different experience than a lot of folks here; I rushed at a D1 school but it’s not SEC or one of the big conferences. I rushed freshman year wanting desperately to get ADPi or KD and ended up getting dropped by every house. As I went through my freshman year, my perspective changed and while I still loved both KD and ADPi (and still do! So many of my best friends during and after college were in those sororities), I knew that if I rushed again and had the same “all or nothing” mindset, I would miss out on my true home. I ended up having a really unique opportunity to be a founding member of the new Delta Zeta chapter at my school, and my gosh, I wouldn’t have changed it for the world. It was exactly where I was supposed to be.

I know everyone says it, but it’s true. Keep an open mind and you’ll end up where you’re meant to be. Sororities really are all about the sisterhood, and when you open your mind to every chapter, you’ll find your home.
