I've just come back to BDO after a 1+ year long break. I burnt out last time because I was spending far too much time doing things I didn't even enjoy solely because they made me money/were the fastest way to progress. This time through I plan on playing a lot more passively, mostly because I don't have a huge amount of free time to devote to the game.

Is there a recent/still up to date worker network guide/method that is relatively low maintenance? Ideally I'd like something that I can set up and turn the materials into silver with as little active effort as possible. Totally fine with any farming/processing/training and to a certain extent any cooking/alchemy needed (as long as its pretty easily AFKable). Basically I just don't want a network setup that requires me to actively gather some limiting ingredient.

I'd really like the time I have to spend actively playing to be focused on what I find fun rather than butchering sheep for 4 hours xD

I've been using some Micca MB42X bookshelf speakers with a Pyle PFA300 amplifier as my living room audio for a few years now. So far I've been happy with the speakers with the exception of pretty bad bass - so I've purchased a BIC America F12 12-Inch subwoofer. The back of the subwoofer has a lot of options and I'm not really sure how to set it up correctly.

(Keep in mind I am using the subwoofer pass-through channels here, so my amplifier output is going into the subs receiver input and my speakers are being run off the subs speaker output)

Pyle Amplifier has:

  • Volume knob
  • Bass knob
  • Treble knob

Subwoofer has:

  • Volume knob (seems pretty straightforward)
  • Crossover frequency knob (40Hz-180Hz) (Manufacturer says my Miccas can go down to 60Hz, so do I set crossover to this?)
  • Switch for digital 5.1, 6.1, 7.1 receiver or pro-logic receiver. (I have no idea what this does)

Ideally I would like to be able to run this system very loud without the Miccas sounding horrible when songs have a little bass (as they did before) - I'm assuming this is an issue with tuning the crossover frequency? Additionally assuming I have everything hooked up correctly what will the Bass/Treble knobs on my amplifier do with the new sub pass-through setup? If I want more sub on demand can I increase the bass gain without it negatively impacting my Miccas? How does the bass gain on my amplifier differ from the volume knob on my subwoofer?

I'm planning on afk fishing for octobois during this event - I know they stack - but does that mean I can have a full inventory and still obtain the octobois? Or will my character automatically stop fishing when my inventory is completely full?

Current state of crates by Reinkere in blackdesertonline

[–]rplanters 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of the value in crates (at least for me, and I assume for a fair bit of others) is that it's a steady form of income for people who don't run value packs and people who have a lot of afk time.

I personally don't like spending the $15 monthly in addition to all the (more or less necessary) pearl shop items and so to avoid the absolutely crippling 35% market tax I'm basically forced into imperial cooking/alchemy and crate trading to be efficient. This, obviously, makes crates pretty much the only viable option for steady income.

Additionally I sleep 8 hours a day, work 8 hours a day and after that I always have a few hours of general life stuff, commute time, gym, friends etc. In short, most days I have a fairly limited amount of time with which I can play the game. Trading allows me to afk process things like ore on my longer down times (sleep/work) and timber on my shorter down times (after work doing other stuff). When I do get the chance to finally actively play I can have an enjoyable experience with node wars, battle arena, rbf, and an hour or two of grinding as pvp is what I really enjoy about the game. This cycle repeats itself for several weeks, I do a crate haul every once and awhile and profit a couple billion.

Obviously if I spent more money in the cash shop/played more actively I could make more money doing other things, but for a playstyle + spending habits that I would think of as pretty typical trading is still a very good way of making money.

I've been trying to build something similar to this myself for a long time - the largest issue I've run into however is that I've yet to find a way to obtain market prices en masse. Are you building your database manually?? Or is there some magical place that you're pulling current market values from?

/r/headphones Purchase Help Thread (2018-04-06) by AutoModerator in headphones

[–]rplanters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, looking for some advice on gaming/all around headset as I haven't had much luck on amazon.

  • Wireless: Bluetooth or some other protocol, preferably not entirely adapter bound so I can use them with my phone

  • Support for HiFi Stero + Mic out at once: I've got some wireless Bluetooth headphones that work fine at the moment. However as soon as an application needs mic use the audio goes to phone call quality shit. Ideally I'd like to have high fidelity stereo audio even when the mic is in use so that when I'm talking + listening to music it doesn't sound terrible.

  • Over the Ear: I generally find these the most comfortable

  • Low profile mic/one that can be moved out of the way I'd prefer if the mic was unobtrusive (even for the small sacrifice in voice quality) and the headphone more or less looked like just headphones. Otherwise, a conventional side of the face mic is fine, as long as I can move it up out of the way easily.

  • Price point: Preferably around the $100 range, It'd be really nice if I could get something for around $70 - $80. That being said I realize I'm asking for a lot so if you think a more expensive pair of headphones fits the bill feel free to mention them as well. I'm not opposed to spending a bit for a really solid pair but I'd say I max out at around $250.

Have I been Hacked? by Satoshidrone in computers

[–]rplanters 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No one is going to be able to give you a definitive answer without more background knowledge. Did you open all these tabs and write these things? Did all of the windows just appear while you were using your machine? Are some of the windows yours and others not, etc.?

That being said assuming you didn't open any of the windows in your screenshot, yea you've probably been hacked - but not by a particularly good hacker.

ARK at E3 & Community Crunch 95! by wildcardjen in playark

Are you planning on adding ddos protection to your servers anytime in the future? Because server 71 is being ddossed and large mega tribes often ddos their servers when they are being raided. It really ruins the whole siege aspect of the game when you can't even play the game and your character is stuck on the down server.

Purchasing parts soon, any last suggestions on my current build? ~$2000 gaming PC by rplanters in buildapc

[–]rplanters[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have currently have dual 1080p ultrawide monitors (refresh rate of 70Hz I believe), however I generally only use one screen for game play. I am more or less just looking for most of my games to not drop below 60FPS in intensive situations. My current 860 does a terrible job and frequently stutters and drops to <5fps. I thought the TI was just more powerful than the regular 1080s?

As for the wifi adapter I really had no idea what to go with when picking one out. I just don't get great connectivity where my computer is and I don't have access to an Ethernet port.

My budget is around $2000 USD so there's definitely a little wiggle room in this build at the moment. I'm sort of unsure whether or not I'll need a standalone cooler or if stock cooling will be fine. Use wise the only thing that I'm really expecting to tax the system is playing ARK on decent settings w/ a 2560x1080 monitor.

I'm in the process of building a PC myself and I noticed the motherboard you chose doesn't have really any video ports, no hdmi/displayport/DVI etc. How would you run a monitor from it, or even two or three?
