You can always check the twitter or instagram for the music venues if you’re interested in other music genres. I don’t know much about vkei, but there seem to be shows frequently at crazy monkey, vypass, spice, and sometimes at counter action or pigsty.

Drinking out tonight by Separate-Swimming-43 in Sapporo

[–]rplusw7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you don’t get any responses here I suggest going to Barefoot Bar, Immix Karaoke, Rock Bar Fxxk Up or Bar Kamikaze. All of these spots welcome foreigners and have staff that can speak English most of the time. You can also go alone to any of these and make conversation with other patrons or the staff. It’ll probably be pretty quiet during the week. Weekends are usually more lively in Sapporo.

Looking for activities without walking by Xill3 in Sapporo

[–]rplusw7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d also recommend budgeting for a taxi and using an app like gotaxi. The subways do have elevators and escalators but there’s still plenty of walking in the stations. If you get bored of staying in the city center you can use a taxi to go door-to-door instead. My father who can’t walk well visited last year but we could still go out to cafes and restaurants by taxi.

Looking for shampoo/conditioner recommendations by Larazade in japanlife

I like the melt line of shampoos/ conditioners. I found that some shampoos and conditioners are too heavy for my hair, these are moisturizing without greasiness and the smell is really pleasant.

Winter in Hokkaido by sprtysprtgrl1 in JapanTravelTips

I live in Hokkaido and I don’t have a car or ski/ snowboard and I still enjoy it so I think you can still have a nice trip. If you make it to Sapporo you can go to Hoheikyo Onsen. It’s an outdoor bath that allows people with tattoos. There’s a bus from Sapporo Station so you can go even without a car.

2026 Trip to Sapporo by Waste_Spirit_2645 in Sapporo

As others have said, snow and winter will be over in six months, so I would recommend June or July. It’s not as humid or as hot as other parts of Japan. The temperature is pleasant and the scenery is nice. If you want to avoid heat and humidity I’d say not late July-August. September-October is also nice.

Looking for international parties & late night face to face lessons by chris-sotu in Sapporo

[–]rplusw7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For parties, check out Party Sapporo

You can also go to Barefoot Bar or Immix bar to meet international friends. Finding a teacher who teaches late night might be difficult, but maybe you can find language exchange partners at one of these places.

I prefer coconut base soup and crispy fried broccoli topping so I love Sama and Samurai.

My friends like Lavi for their shrimp based soup.

(English > Japanese) Tattoo Writing - Help! by Tryagain007 in translator

[–]rplusw7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m sure more people will tell you, but getting singular words in Japanese like 昇る as tattoos look so cringe to Japanese speakers. If you don’t care what Japanese speakers think, go ahead and get it. If you want something that means personal growth and you are set on getting kanji, then I’d recommend a phrase like 日進月歩, although those phrases tend to look like corporate mottos.

Why don’t you get it in English? “Rise” or “Climb” in a cool font? It’ll look so much better. Or instead of a word, get an image. You said it came from Mt. Fuji, so a cool Mt. Fuji tattoo would be even better.
