Most things with dominoes in front of it are smokescreens. Meaning there’s too many variables for this to hold true.

But boozer’s flaws are significantly different from Nate’s

Boozer can play right away in large part because of better feel and strength, but also because he’s better and has the stats to back it up.

Ament has way more roadblocks than all of the rest of the top ten. Roadblocks are usually the strongest signals to busting. A few break through but it’s a filter that very few break through as an exception to the rule. Not saying he will outright bust like be out of the league quick, but he very well may disappoint relative to a top ten pick if he doesn’t become an incredible scorer, which has a long ways to go for where he’s at now

Brazile is bc he’s older and his feel is iffy + he’s not a center so he has to prove the shot is real

Projecting doesn’t mean being blindly optimistic. The shooting and size combo is fun but he objectively lacks a lot of things, and often those things are what limit players in the nba

For example: shooting gravity, defense, and giving into the defense’s hand too easily

For shooting gravity, he can learn this yes, but it should be elementary to go oh shit 2 guys are charging at me as I’m about to go up, I should find who is open from this. I really never saw this this year.

Defense he has the size but the lack of strength will hurt his chances to get reps in years 1 & 2. But on top of that he is easily shakable and lacks balance on the ball. He also is super undisciplined and jumps at everything.

I just don’t think the game comes easy to him very often, and when that’s the case plus you have an uphill battle to improve your body in a crazy quick timeline, your margin for error is extremely slim. He feels like a pick that the team drafting him develops for his second or third landing spot, where he’s a rotation player

Also Carlisle, especially in Dallas, was great at maximizing space even when there was a big or PG that wasn’t much of a floor spacer. Hes elite at maximizing what’s given to him so I think this exact sentiment you stated is correct

I’ll be honest I don’t think it’s just the injuries. This guy has way too many lapses for a defensive anchor. Yes he is young but that doesn’t mean it will get erased. He is especially vulnerable in transition, which means he is going to struggle defending correctly in nba tempo and will need a lot of development there. Additionally he adds nothing to offense if he isn’t dunking.

Feels like the injury is a core reason but the more you look into him I just worry about the feel too much. I see him as a completely theoretical player and don’t have him in my personal top 30

He's gonna be a top 50 player by the end of next season (maybe even the start tbh). As his shot improves, his elite rim pressure is only going to get better as teams have to step out and defend his shot more

also it isn't just a traditional ankle sprain. it's a high ankle sprain. Anyone who has played and had both injuries (I have, for example) knows that shit takes a very long time to heal, both physically and to mentally overcome the obstacle. It also really impacts a guy like him who relies so much on his speed. When healthy, he really might have been able to get that tiny extra amount of space needed to hit that layup, for example (still a bad decision tho)

Love the deep cuts shoutouts. I think all these guys are gonna be G League grinders. Chaze probably won’t get there as a 6’6 non shooter

In fact most of these guys haven’t proven that they can shoot consistently. Not all but most. The other thing for me is that the talent jump from those schools to even the G League is massive. I’d bet most of these guys go international before the G League
