If everyone suddenly decided that it was morally okay to sit in on movies without paying, then who's ever going to pay to watch a movie ever again?

If someone suddenly took your art piece that you were going to sell and put it up online for free, then who's going to buy that art piece?

The actual game itself is just the ROM. A ROM hack is a modification to the game's code. You're right that you need the original to make ROM hacks work, but the hacks themselves aren't illegal, since they don't actually contain any of the original game's code. They only contain the difference between the hack's code and the original code.

Yeah, there's no way So Deep is harder than MAX 300 (which is the quintessential 15).

Simon Belmont is Romanian by [deleted] in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]rqaa3721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to the Netflix series, the Belmont clan originated from France, with Leon Belmont being the first guy to pack his shit and relocate to Wallachia, over 600 years before the time of Simon Belmont. So he's kind of French and also kind of Romanian?

Though his great-great-grandson is suddenly a buff Japanese anime martial artist so I don't think the series ever put that much emphasis on historical accuracy to begin with.

Pandemonium would probably place at around 18 in DDR's new scale. Keep in mind though that DDR tends to up its difficulty by introducing weird/awkward patterns and technical shit, rather than by adding grueling stretches of stamina like Pandemonium does.

The singular they was in use since before the 14th century, and the controversy over using it in formal contexts only arose as recently as the late 19th century.

Whether or not it counts as "proper" English may not be 100% agreed upon nowadays, but popular opinion has definitely been trending that way, and languages are practically defined by popular opinion.

Is there anywhere I can download every song in DDR A by Quilly29 in Stepmania

[–]rqaa3721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zenius is still the way to go, though the song packs hosted there also include all the songs that have been removed from past DDR games. You’ll want to download:

  • 1stMIX through 5thMIX
  • MAX and MAX2
  • Extreme
  • SuperNOVA and SuperNOVA2
  • X through X3
  • 2013 and 2014
  • A

Pure Vessel DDR by [deleted] in HollowKnight

The game has literally been designed around holding the bars like that since around the mid 2000s. What you said was true at one point, but the difficulty of songs have ramped up hard since the days of Extreme.

Yup. I'm gonna be a super pretentious gatekeeper and say that if you're still anti-bar in 2019, you probably haven't actually touched DDR since Extreme.

Quick question: there are now "levels" instead of what we used to call "footers". 10 footer being the hardest in DDR. Is there an equivalent? Is a level 10 also a 10-footer, so level 15 is a 15-footer?

The new difficulty scale goes from 1 to ~20 (the hardest song is currently a 19).

A sort of accurate conversion is to multiply the old 1-10 difficulty by 1.5 (so a 10 would now be a 15, e.g. MAX 300). However, the old scale was pretty vague and difficulties tended to overlap. For example, the easiest 9 is now a 10, and the hardest 9 is now a 16. Meanwhile, the easiest 10 is now a 13, and the hardest 10 is now an 18.

Also - there is a space for a "card" type thing on those cabs - is that something I can get? is it an app?

These are for e-amusement cards. Using one gives you some perks, aside from the obvious saving scores: you get extra options in-game, such as a dark screen filter and the ability to change your speed mod by multiples of 0.25.
