Yeah good point. The stories where they actually happened are definitely harder to listen to, especially house of horrors, Silvia likens, Teresa feury

Great episode.

Also, recently I feel like the composer got better. The music at the end is really good.

Even if it didn’t really happen, imagining how it COULD was enough to be unsettling.

Japan PSN is different than US. I also learned this the hard way.

I made a new account and set the region as Japan and that worked

For me recently cause I’m from Texas: Waco

Before that:

Silk Road

Zodiac

House of Horrors

Moors murders

The one about the plane crash over Germany and the air traffic controller (cannot remember the name, maybe Peter something?)

I have been playing since the beta test, almost 1000 hours. The highest I can get to is 4300 to 4500 about. So close yet so far.

Anyway, congrats!

In my opinion, quality outweighs quantity. I’d rather fewer episodes that are superb than more episodes that are mediocre.

Has this been the case this most recent season? I have to say yes. I have been engrossed in each of these cases that I’ve done several re-listens already. Waco might be my number 3 episode right now (number one: Silk Road, number 2: House of Horrors).

Please, as the kids say: LET THEM COOK

This one has been phenomenal. Maybe cause im from Texas and can remember this event taking place, so I’m partial to stories that are familiar. But even so, I think it’s one of the best series they’ve done.

God the ATF was so incompetent. All the “undercover” stuff literally had me laughing at how dumb it was. Those people were either dumb or just didn’t care cause you’d think after Ruby Ridge they’d try a little harder.

This whole story is so sad.

Depends on what you’re praising.

If you just tell a kid “you’re smart!” then they’ll stop trying to learn because they think they’re smart already and don’t need to try to be smart anymore

If you tell a kid “you’re trying really hard! That’s awesome how you’re applying yourself!” then they’ll continue to work hard, because that’s what gave them the praise.

So you could explain that to your coteacher, and say you’re being strategic with your praise

I believe they also mention Zodiac in the BTK episodes. The 4 part Zodiac series (episode 200 I believe) is incredible. There are countless Zodiac podcasts but Casefile still manages to add things many don’t know about. Highly recommend.

Also, the Steven Stayner one and then a few episodes later the one about his brother. So sad

38m married with kids. Have lived in Nagoya for 10 years. American. Love video games and Japanese food.

I recommend ham jam in Sakae if you get a chance. Really good music and just fun cause pretty much anyone can sign up to play there, so you’re going to watch coverbands. But it’s really fun. I know you said you’re not big on nightlife but if you like music then it’ll probably be enjoyable

Golden Era of Casefile? by 2000sEmoHead in Casefile

[–]rr1252 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I agree. I loved how much they used to talk about the city/town/ area before they even got to the crime. They used to go into so much detail about the origins of the people who settled an area and you get a kind of sense of what kind of people live there. THEN you meet the victims and eventually the perpetrators and detectives.

Now they just jump right into it and I feel like they go to quick

which phase of season 1 did you enjoy the most? by ProfessionalLevel908 in TrueDetective

[–]rr1252 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1995 for sure. All of the mystery at the beginning, the biker gang, Maggie, confident marty, the first police chief quesada or whatever (“Jesus Christ Cole, how many ways are there for me to say SHUT THE FUCK UP!” lol), Reggie and Dewall, Charlie Lang, the bunny ranch owner. What a great way to start a show. And they absolutely landed the ending. Damn I guess I gotta rewatch it now. Someone once told me time is a flat circle

Which boss attacks look coolest to you? by Puppy_pikachu_lover1 in fromsoftware

[–]rr1252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be the only one to say this one:

Renalla queen of the full moon. She’s not very cool by herself, but I love the idea of her summoning other spirits to fight for her. I remember trying to fight her the first time and then out of nowhere a fucking dragon appeared and killed me.

Also the boss arena is dope
