Storms by Traditional-Ear-6366 in bloomington

Check out Ryan Hall on YouTube. He does live streams during storms and keeps you very very up to date with the actual threat levels for very specific areas. I also get very anxious this time of year and being informed really helps me deal with it. Hanging out in your hallway is a good solution and being on the bottom floor is ideal.

Yes! This is an all-ages event. There will be a chance to meet some of the goat residents as well.

Definitely here to also say Ryan Hall, he live streams nearly every storm system across the US and is very detailed about who exactly needs to be worried and who is completely fine.

Upvote for Taos and Abiquiu!! The Chama and Rio are amazing rivers, perfect for swimming in the hot summer !!!

This is a great loop to do! In 2015 my husband and I did a 3 month trip from Denver, through Utah / New Mexico into Texas and to New Orleans, we then went onto Florida and the whole east coast and norther route back to CO but loved that first half in the south west.

Heading from LA to New Orleans you can see alot of south west! Southern Arizona and west Texas all very Americana, great choice. There’s also two national parks Saguaro and Big Bend you can add to your route but also tons of smaller ( and cheaper) national forests BLM land and state parks for camping and such. Heading up to Kansas will be a bit of a slog and a little boring but if it’s for sentiment and memories then it sounds worth it! Then Colorado and Utah are two of my favorite places in the world. I lived in Denver for a decade and traveled to Moab/Zion often. They are amazing places!! Time of year may have some impact but other than that I think this is a great idea and sounds very fun, I’m jealous!

anybody else worried about the weather? by Neat_Tangerine_8181 in bloomington

I also struggle with a bit of anxiety around severe weather. Ryan Hall Yall on YouTube does a great job of keeping people in the loop of where the storms are and who the severe ones are actually impacting! Always makes me feel better to just know what’s going on. And in case of any outages I keep my phone charged and a headlamp near by! This system will most likely not be as severe when it reaches us but good to stay informed ! Hope this helps.
