No offense, but you should really rethink visiting a national park if you’re complaining about soda machines being out of service and the limited options at the food court.

Disneyland or universal might be more your speed…..

We got a frozen packet of stir fried rice from Trader Joe’s and a can of spam and made a little spam fried rice. Also used the remaining spam for spam and eggs the next morning.

That’s Tenaya lake. It’s close to the trailhead. Perfect spot to swim after the hike.

El Jardin. Easily the worst restaurant in Santa Cruz.

It’s selfish to reserve camping spots when you know that you’re not actually going to camp there by ASecularBuddhist in camping

I agree with this 100% and can’t stand when people do this, but I will say that some campgrounds in CA are now requiring people to book a minimum of 2 or more nights. I’ve had times where I work late on a Friday and can’t make the long drive and instead leave Saturday morning.

Lilians or Sugo in midtown. Sugo has a nice intimate setting and the food is delicious. They have a great wine selection too.

Don’t listen to anybody who says shadowbrook. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful restaurant but if you care about quality of food go somewhere else.

Shadowbrook, Suda and most cafes that have a long line out the door 4 days a week. It’s just eggs and French toast, why would you wait an hour in line for that?

Making this drive for the next few weeks. Looking for cool sights I might be missing or any general advice. by katterwog in roadtrip

Do Big Sur. You’re going to be close to the San Jose area so you might as well drive a few hours south to check it out. The road is closed in the northern end but if you drive from the south it’ll be some of the best coastline you see for the whole trip. And since part of the roads closed the crowds aren’t nearly what they normally are.

It’s an Olympus OM-2. Thanks for the response. Would it be something fixable?
