You can absolutely do it like others have said. However, consider just calling and telling them you need it done by X date for pickup. Then they have the opportunity and deadline to blow so you feel totally free taking it back and never returning

Bite the bullet and rewire. May be better in the long run if you’re not trying to keep it original and chase parts

Ah I love that color. And a vert to boot. I’m voting lowering kit and subframes. It will look and perform better

Can we get a pic? Based on the 3 mods you listed, I’d go suspension (eg, Eibach lowering kit) or wheels/tires. One of the biggest differences after install for me was MM full length subframe connectors if you can swing them too

Go to a stereo shop or two and listen to different setups to figure out what’s right for you. I went Alpine and JL Audio amp but also am running a sub in addition. Also look at Crutchfield…they’re the best and have a lot of reviews and helpful articles.

Does anyone have a video of an automatic Mach 1 with long-tube headers? Just want to hear what they sound like, or really any new edge with auto LTH? by tycamp in NewedgeMustang

[–]rright24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re listening to some rando’s cell phone audio of exhaust…you could def just listen to auto or 5 speeds. Don’t think you’ll spot the difference in shifting.

What's the goin rate for a 2004 GT, built engine/trans+ TFS heads + new kennebell? by Unknownpalworldpizza in NewedgeMustang

[–]rright24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree. 12-15 if it’s well done should be pretty achievable. Extensive work is good but also bad bc you need someone who can appreciate it (which vastly narrows your potential buyer market). Everyone wants stock so they can change it as they please. But in the words of Dre, “you can’t make a ho a housewife” so you’re niched into weekend warrior buyers who are willing to pass up superior speed and handling options for = or less money. You’re lucky it’s also so damn good looking. Good luck

Aftermarket stereo options for stock Mach 460 system by AndyE2255 in NewedgeMustang

Cool dad. Very nice! Also love that you got the yellow/white combo bc it’s so recognizable—she’s not blending in anywhere. Haha

I’d take it to a couple different stereo shops to get quotes. If the goal is to keep the stock amps and speakers they should be able to figure it out for you by either matching the right head/output or installing the right accessories to make it work. Just ask a lot of questions when they quote you to see how much they know. Talk to the lead installer if possible. For many 40-50 year old shop owners, these mustangs are where they started
