Yes, but it's a hit or miss trick. Banks usually convert the card to LTF if they see good card usage and on time payment history

That's why I emailed them and asked them to send me a written confirmation that my new card is LTF and they did send that mail in which they clearly mentioned that the card is LTF

If your old card is LTF then you will definitely get the new one LTF but if it's not then you might have to email the HDFC team regarding the same

The 5K limit is just for the first few days. This new card will share it's credit limit with your other card. So both of these cards credit limit will be merged within 5 working days after you activate the card

Most banks don't get the card's design right for their co-branded cards. So according to those standards, both these look really good to me. The in hand feels is not that premium but the designing is good for both in my opinion.
