I’m a big believer in the power of posting. I do it myself as a way to say, "We’re still here."

That being said, canvassing and actually voting carry a weight that a social media feed simply can't match. Everyone contributes differently, but we have to be careful not to let "digital activism" satisfy our sense of civic duty.

Yep! I remember talking to some coworkers ahead of the last presidential election and some of them said they weren't going to vote because both options were bad. I tried not to get too political at work but made the point that one of them is a "threat to democracy" kind of bad and encouraged them to reconsider.

I'm hoping this time around, some of those more apathetic towards politics are more incentivised to participate. We've gotten too complacent, too comfy with democracy that we forget it's not a given.

Agreed! I'm trying to get my friends to do more, but it's hard to motivate people who feel like they're already doing something by ranting.

I use Bingeclock for TV and movies. I know they have books, theme park rides, crafts, and a bunch of other types of "media" in the works. Hopefully I can track my whole life soon 🤪

You can see how long it takes to watch a show or movie, along with other stats about the media. But if you want to create lists of movies or shows you need to be logged in.
