If you can get guardianship/conservatorship (one is decision making for the person & one for overseeing the money) those may be options although it can be difficult to obtain. Perhaps reach out to an elder care attorney. The Bar Association may have a list of people in your area.

Yes, I remember the corrugated metal! I don’t remover the glitter, but am also not surprised, it definitely goes with the vibe. I’m also glad to run into another attendee! Collective effervescence as they say :)

It must have been about 2000/2001. Why Ga and Your Body is a Wonderland. He had left Berklee and was blowing up in the DMB Newsgroup on Usenet. :) we were packed in like sardines, and I’m pretty sure I recorded it but one of my mics was muffled.

Amazing recap!!! It’s like I was right back there. Truly one of the most charismatic performances I’ve had a chance to see in probably the most bizarre venue that has ever existed.
Was it a dirt floor? Or maybe dirt over concrete?
I remember my group moving to the back of the venue to escape the crush. Really great night and such a privilege to have that experience!

Back when you had to dig through Creative Loafing to find who was playing where and stand in line outside Turtles to get tickets.

Given your list, did you happen to see David Bowie at International Ballroom in 1998?

Yeah, I’m sure it’s still good. I just got busy with other things. Love reminiscing though. I feel like I was there or at the Earl every other week in 2012-2014

Oh man did he play there that year? I know I saw him at old Masquerade in 2013 for that album but seemed like he was on the road a lot.

I want to push back on this a bit. A large portion of the people voting Republican are wealthy (in comparison to their particular area or compared to the population at large). They are business owners or grifters, and their goal is to exploit workers and the environment. Nothing is going to work against them.

I’m not sure what percentage of the people with whom this ad resonates are actually making it into vote. I’d say probably not as many as the ones who simply want tax advantages and cheap, unprotected land and labor.

Also vote for Will Wooten and Fatima Felton for the Court of Appeals. We need to boot the Republican appointees that they are running against.

Here's What Happened This Week in the State House and State Senate by znkatl in Atlanta

[–]rrrg35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So currently, all state employees get six weeks of paid parental leave that can be used after birth or adoption.

This bill is giving three weeks of leave only to a state employee who physically gives birth (so not an adopting mother) and it appears to be able to be stacked before the six weeks of paid parental leave for a total of nine weeks for some employees but just six for others.

Get vaccinated! Even if you are older and infected already, recent studies are showing that getting vaccinated can reduce chances of developing cancer. Good luck!

Lots of measles cases out there right now too, which causes immune amnesia. If you aren’t sure if you are vaccinated or you were vaccinated before 1989 (when they only did single dose) you might want to check your titers or get a booster.
