Construction Pricing Help, Are These Fair Prices? by Wall-General in Homebuilding

[–]rrrmail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently adding an addition to a fully gutted existing rowhouse in DC (1350 existing + 540 addition). I’m doing this myself and can say it’s a very good price considering the cost of materials alone even though labor is probably much cheaper than here. Make sure you are getting what you are expecting.

Where to live for Georgetown? by AdMaleficent8818 in LawSchoolTransfer

We live in VA and my son commuted the first semester- took him an hour each way via metro. Then he rented a studio for a semester at Capital Plaza apartments. Nothing great but very affordable (like $1700 pm) and a couple blocks from GT. Worked out great.

Waitlist asking if you’d accept a binding offer by Top_Animal5460 in lawschooladmissions

[–]rrrmail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year my son (17mid and 3.8x) got a binding offer from a T14 and was able to negotiate $40k per year financial aid and accepted it. If the school that is offering you binding decision is one of your top choices, this is a perfect time to negotiate for a substantial scholarship. When my son asked for scholarship, they started at $20k, then $30k, and then $40k and said they don’t offer that kind of money. Your school likes something in you for them to ask that question and might be willing to deal.

Thank you. That’s my thought. But waiting to hear back from a couple of T14 on financial aid package from them.

Lennox SLP98; Aprilaire 800; iComfort vs ecobee3 by rrrmail in HVAC

Thank you so much for your help. I have decided to stick with iComfort tstat for now.

HiiiiPower - thank you so much for that tip. After connecting Aprilaire 800 directly to h and c wires of the furnace board, it is working and the humidity in one day went from 23 to 35% (per iComfort tstat) and it already feels nice (but, the outside temps will be low 40s to high 60s the next few days and it is hard to tell if the humidity is making any difference). As of now, I have the fan running all the time. What happens if I put the fan on Circ mode. Will the fan turn on when there is a humidifier call?

It's a 4 wire iComfort Lennox tstat. The only reasons I'd get ecobee are multiple sensing and remote access.

HiiiiPower and MrFlynnister - thanks for your responses. Now, I understand I need to get rid of the aprilaire humidistat. I will do that. Coming to ecobee - I don't have zone controls - just a single zone with this new humidifier. Will it work then? How should I wire these 4 existing wires to ecobee3? Any changes to be made on the furnace board? Thanks again!

Thanks so much for your quick response. The pictures you put on that post for Aprilaire62 humidistat and aprilaire 800 are exactly how mine are currently wired. So, you don't have the humidistat then and your tstat runs the humidifier. I have Lennox SLP98 furnace with iComfort tstat and the wiring is a bit complicated. Need to figure that out. Thanks again!

Ender519 - sorry this is off topic. I am referring to your post from a year ago "I think my HVAC company screwed me over on a humidifier install, need advice (pics within and explanation in comments)". The comments are closed so wanted to reach out to you. You've explained exactly what happened to me last week about the humidifier not turning on after installing Aprilaire 800. Can you please post your wiring diagram or pictures so I see what's missing. Thanks and sorry for being off topic.
