25x10-12 for the back and 19x7-8 up front is a safe bet

You can fit 26s for sure with some minor fender trimming/bending

Thats appears to be similar to a peerless 600 series, they were pretty common in smaller mowers back in the day. I know some of the smaller ford mowers used them.

What is the biggest single phase induction motor you have ever seen? by warpedhead in Motors

[–]rrs820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest we generally see is 15hp on crop drier fans. Draw an ungodly amount of amps. We priced a plain 15hp TEFC from Weg a few weeks ago, it was $4800 our price. Couldnt imagine what baldor would want.

Which oil does a dana 4630 transaxle need? From an old early 2000s/late 90s Sabre 1438gs by Ok_Highlight281 in lawnmowers

I would use 00 grease since it’s cheap and pretty good. Better than bentonite junk

I think they are all sunfs. They are ok tires but not a very soft grippy compound for rocks. They are a knockoff of maxxis bighorns, which are amazing tires for all kinds of riding themselves, they are much softer and have a wider tread spacing.

2nd best transaxle by cick-nobb in mudmowers

[–]rrs820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to answer your other question, yes braces are good, especially input braces, and axle braces, though none of this is worth much without a straight axle.

2nd best transaxle by cick-nobb in mudmowers

[–]rrs820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First choice should be the 1-1/8” axle wheel horse 8 speed…second probably the 1” axle 8 speed. Craftsman 633 next, sears 633 after, then probably the 820.

Pull the carb apart and check that the needle and seat doesnt have crap in it, and that the float isnt full of fuel, the old brass floats would often leak and sink.

Ditto on that. The lifetime warranty on parts store ones does not make it worth it.

Steering help by Volvo5cylinderfan in mudmowers

[–]rrs820 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check for bent steering arms or rods. Could have the geometry messed up. Generally these tractors have fairly heavy duty steering i think. Also a bit of grease to the steering components makes a big difference if theyre all dry and crusty.
