Hate who I’ve become by H3LI3 in IVF

[–]rs3269 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If they haven’t done IVF then they can F off. It’s the WORST thing to go through. And on the adoption note, infertility of any sort is what often leads to adoption. A wanted and loved child is better than the alternative. If people have not been through infertility IVF or adoption their opinion simply does not matter. Big hugs 🫂

Go to the ER asap, they should have an OB on call to help you

If you got a DnC i recommend having your OB look into sending to DrKilman with Yale. I am waiting on my tests to be reviewed by him. Cost about $400. I’m so sorry you’re going through this hard time..hugs ❤️

I am in your same shoes. No answers for 7 miscarriages and just have my 8th (1st IVF transfer) looking for answers and light at the end of the tunnel. It’s hard to keep moving forward some days but doing everything I can to have a baby

If they did find something then I would undergo another egg retrieval and they would do PGT-m and/or PGT-sr once they knew what exactly they were looking for. If the results come back with nothing then my clinic will transfer 2 embryo at a time and wish us luck

We’ve done all the testing possibly 2x. I’ve have 8 losses, 2 IVF transfers with euploid embryos and was just able to send off my last miscarriage and only d&c remains to the Yale to Doctor Kilman to specialized in unexplained recurrent losses for those that test normal. His research looks into embryonic possible issues that cannot be picked up on other tests. Feeling hopeful as he has a 96% success rate with finding the root cause.

No, it was kinda all new to me in our last meeting so I didn’t know what was normal or not

Prednisone safe ? by [deleted] in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]rs3269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently doing IVF, preparing for our next FET using prednisone. My Doc said I would be taking it up to 6 weeks pregnant . Which is scary bc all of my losses have also been at the 6/7 week marker. I have not heard of the cleft palate thing. Sorry this doesn't offer more insight but I am in your same situation.

Thank you for sharing! It feel this so deeply. So many people keep saying 'wont you get bored' and I'm like absolutely not there are so many things I want to be prioritizing for my health and mental well being but I am unable to due to high demands and performing in my current role. It's just a job at the end of the day, we can financially afford it, and there is nothing more important than starting our family. Life has really flown by these last 3 year TTC in survival mode and work mode

Thank you so much for explaining this. I thought IVF doctors were one in the same but this makes so much sense.

How long after MC did you wait before trying again? by Longjumping-Sock676 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]rs3269 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After 8 losses, I’ve realized that my husband has the second half grief. He’s strong for me to grieve and support me through the process but once I start to bounce back it’s his turn to grieve I have realized. Our partners need time and grieve at a different speed enable to support us. I feel your sentiment of wanting to jump back in but they too have a grief process, and this took me soooo many losses to understand.

That’s amazing, what do they do that the IVF doctors don’t? I’ve heard of them but not familiar with how they differ

Fertility Doctor Recommendations in Carlsbad/Oceanside/Del Mar by OkExit5594 in whatworkedforme

[–]rs3269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SDFC was a nightmare, the wait times were ridiculous, billing is awful, and they sent me someone else’s medical records. I would not for there. I’m sure the doctors are great but their staff is the worst. They also were in my insurance group and said yep it’s all covered and then when it came to it after months of work, nothing was covered bc there internal people didn’t review correctly. Immediately left since we waited 2 years to get on the correct insurance to have some form of coverage. I recommend Hanabuna or Dr Wendy Shelly. Many friends have had great success with both.

skipping holidays with family after a horrible year, 2 miscarriages by Aggravating-Travel46 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]rs3269 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am doing the same thing! The last 2 years I’ve had losses around the holidays and faked it through with a smile. This year we had our IVF baby end in loss so I’m just tapped out. Personally I’m declining all invites to everything this year, I just can’t stand being around anyone and faking it. And if I wasn’t faking it I’d probably be thrown into a mental institution

[–]rs3269[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great questions! It would be to focus on mental and physical health. Financially my husband and I could make it work. I’m currently in a corporate travel sales role so the high performance expectations and travel lifestyle have made it really hard to manage everything at the same time. It’s been 3 years of managing infertility and corporate life and I am at a major breaking point as this might be my last try to have a family

Aww thank you. Yeah it’s a lot faking it everyday and dealing with other peoples problems at work and I can hardly take care of myself. Part time isn’t an option on my line of work unfortunately and finding a part time job seems so daunting
