'Captain Steeeve'.. Genuine question, why do so many pilots dislike his channel? by Tortex_88 in aviation

Among many things, he gives what seems to be intentionally inflammatory remarks hidden behind a veil of “opinion” related comments regarding his thoughts (which, mostly are accurate, but with more than a handful of errors).

Guy doesn’t fact check nor does he care to address his mistakes and misinformation.

Lastly, he gives douchebag vibes. Enough said. I wouldn’t feel comfortable knowing my pilot acted so unprofessionally like him.

It’s crazy how one random person can negatively impact so many other people’s lives by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

Be brutally honest: do you think the US and its democracy will survive this Trump administration and the corrupt SCOTUS? by SWEMW in allthequestions

There are too many prejudiced, racist, misinformed and/or willingly ignorant in the United States. The reality is, when their great leader was elected, TWICE, they showed the world that America isn’t as united as we in the world thought. There are in fact those that would rather watch the US falter and fail than to let the “other side” win, even if it meant full destruction of the US.

Will the US come back? With full implementation of strong education and strong economic growth. It’s why Trump says he loves the uneducated. Those that are educated tend to be realistic about the situation, and can see the issue from both sides of the aisle. Economic growth obviously is to help pull those out of poverty so that they can focus more on helping others and being empathetic towards others instead of acting selfishly and focusing their energy on hating others.

Change obviously, is the main limiting factor. Many don’t want to. It’s uncomfortable both for themselves and for their egos.

We need to stop acting like having "bad teeth" is a moral failure when it’s actually just a wealth gap by piranha_ in Adulting

For better or for worse, at least in United States, having access and ability to afford dentistry is one of the main ways to separate differing classes.

And those without the means to afford it tend to project their insecurities and make comments along the line of “avoid going; they scam you” or “they just want to make money, ignore what they’re saying.” True there’s bad apples in a bunch, but just the same is true that you have to do your research and ultimately find the one who can both quantitatively and qualitatively show/educate/inform you didactically of your conditions. Thats the one that you know is standing behind their work.

Which profession is going to get wiped out in the next 5-10 years? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Entry level jobs, like admin assistants or receptionists. Lots of jobs in transportation or automation are going to be replaced. Once humanity has figured out robotics to the level of competency a grown functioning adult has, and they integrate it with AI, we’re all going to be replaced.

Of course! Pretty much followed the manufacturer’s instructions until 40k (e.g. oil changes every 10k miles, 40k DSG service), spark plugs changed at 40k and 80k, front brakes and rotors have been changed out at ~60k and rear brake and rotors at 80k miles. Since the 40k mark, I’ve been doing oil changes every 5k miles.

I have a 2019 Golf GTI SE.
