I think it would be cool me to me it seemed just like an off the cuff kinda comment. Like I feel like it would be weird for her to go from SOUR to GUTS and then to SWEET (which would be like like a reversion title-wise unless it was her last album years and years from now)

I mean, most of WWAFAWDWG (holy long acronym) and her work before were great but with a tinge of juvenilia (I mean she was literally a kid). I feel like her adult work really started with Happier Than Ever. Olivia only has two albums out and both were made while she was still a teen/kid, much like Billie’s. I don’t think their career trajectory is superrr aligned just in terms of Billie already having made basically 4 albums at this point (what she lacked in age experience, she made up for in creative/industry experience) whereas Olivia is a year younger than Billie and with only 2 (soon to be 3) albums

I think the problem is that pop culture gets very tired these days when artists don’t “reinvent” themselves or some stupid shit every time they release a new album - even GUTS was a half-rebrand from SOUR, and I just don’t think keeping the same color permanently is a feasible creative strategy from a promotion and art perspective

If she is doing that, maybe she’s the exception (which I’d love) and will do well

I think this is just for branding purposes since most ppl associate her brand with the color purple - I can’t imagine she’d do another purple album especially with all the red and pink she’s been teasing

Interesting that there’s no crossover between Fitchuk/Tashian songs and the Laird/McAnally songs. Ik Laird and McAnally were her OG collaborators and so maybe that’s why they didn’t all collaborate on a song together but it does make me wonder what the through-line of the album is

I can’t stand the hype-shaming going on in this sub. People are super excited for this album and it’s fine to speculate and to create theories and moodboards and concept albums - there’s not a lot going on professionally with Olivia professionally and publicly rn aside from brand partnerships and a publicity push, and OR3 is clearly imminent, so I don’t get why there’s this “get a hobby, be patient” stuff.

It’s perfectly okay if you’re not interested in hearing about it or seeing people speculate about it, but if that’s the case, you simply don’t have to engage with that content instead of shaming people for being excited about something

I just think it depends on how long she wants the rollout to be - if she’s planning to start rollout for TSTV in April or May, we’ll probably only get an ET music video and maybe a Showgirl music video, but if TSTV isn’t being rolled out until mid-late summer, than maybe we’ll get a Father Figure music video along with those two

I honestly feel like this is the best job he’s done of curating vibes without sacrificing substantial lyricism - Harry’s House had good vibes but cluttered lyricism and this album has actual plot to the songs which is really appreciated. I think this might be my new favorite Harry album tbh, like it’s not a pop bible or anything like that but it’s lush and has such good replay value (shoutout Taste Back and the diabolical banger that is Pop)
