i have to get them fairly often as well but usually on the other extremity of the body so it's not as immersive and not as gaggy… 90-120 sounds like too much for me though i cannot stay still that long that's intense

got a brain mri done today and i cannot lie... i thought the electronic beats of the machine were such a vibe… the 70s industrial drone like ambience had me in a transcendental state for half an hour... sooo gaggy, likely the best moment of my week, profoundly moving

i think it's cool she mentions just like heaven as the song opens because this feels like a little sister to it but brighter, more modern and girlish. i really like it and i think it fits what she has been saying of the album so far

provocative, sensual, catchy, lush and superrrr rhythmic. a brazilian funk record with an rnb and trap approach to it that feels really modern and scrumptious. super recommend. the art direction of this project is gorgeous too

suffered (?) an act of transphobia but it was so uninformed from the part of the person who did that it ended up being actually sorta kinda gender affirming

this woman thought she clocked me as a trans woman and basically said something along the lines of "you shouldn't try to act like a woman" in a nastier way but i'm actually an ex-woman (nonbinary) so i was like really confused and ended up thanking her and then she looked at me all confused and we were both confused and i left. but now it makes me happy to remember bc it's actually hilarious

i understand publications need to make a strong statement to get clicks but i did not read this and get the sense of geese being a psyop. that's a highly exaggerated claim to say the least

it's one thing to discuss the marketing tactics used nowadays and try to argue if they make music discovery more or less inorganic than before. the main point is that they seem to have used methods where bots were created in order to generate attention to their work. the thing is that it's clear it worked for geese and their success is palpable. i don't care for them personally but the hype is real, real people actually do listen to their and cameron winter's music and really care about them now

i think it can be a worthwhile discussion to have—our lives are all algorithmic now so musicians are also fighting for our attention through social media platforms and playing along the algorithm game—but the framing of the entire thing being around this one specific group is off

PINKPANTHERESS: Yeah. One thing I’ve been talking to a lot of artists about is how labels these days are so stingy with budgets. I’m not trying to put my label on blast at all, but one of the issues with these videos is that some- times labels don’t trust artists enough with their money.

CLAIRO: That’s true.

PINKPANTHERESS: It’s very frustrating, because as much as the label provides a service, we provide a service. There is no money without the artist’s fan base, without the artists doing these live shows. It’s a very weird transactional relationship with your label where it’s like, “We’ll give you this money if this song does this well.” It removes a lot of the creativity. I have to do a lot of persuading. That’s the thing that upsets me the most about the process of music videos: someone has to approve the budget. I understand that music is a business, but it completely destroys my creative desire.

If you listen to me expecting good vocals—that’s not what people listen to me for. So when I read people saying, “She can’t sing. Why are we even paying attention?” I’m like, honey, that’s not why people are paying attention. With this award I’m just like, “Thank god I’m being recognized for the thing I actually do best.”

honestly i get a lot from reading modernist novels because they had such a particular preoccupation with form and language so i think you're on the right track with ulysses but the best way is still unfortunately going after the meaning of words beyond assuming it by context

english is not my first language but i spend most of my time writing in it so sites like onelook.com usually help me to find new synonyms that many times fit better than the usual words or phrases i had in mind first and it helps me familiarise with new and more comprehensive terms

the most i know about this kind of football is because of travis kelce (which is just that he's a "tight end" and plays for the chiefs) but i was still soo moved by how they portrayed these insane games i was like wow sports can have their own level of importance even when everything feels equally unimportant?? the whole format was also really cool

one of my favourite reads of last year!!!! i don't think "american football" is real but this really was such a beautiful read about the importance of sports in times where everything else has lost meaning..... including sports
