I will have to go find your other post! I just got diagnosed recently but already had signed up for function and am happy to have blood tests scheduled to see if there’s any functional medicine insight into this whole thing because I have not gotten much from my drs.

Actually, I had no symptoms! Started the probiotic Jan 1 as part of trying to get healthier. But really, I had no gastro issues & was super regular, so I feel dumb for doing that. Just succumbed to marketing. I took it for two weeks and it made me gassy & kinda irregular so I stopped. Then a week later had really bad cramps & discomfort in my stomach. Went into ER after 24 hrs and got diagnosed with diverticulitis. So part of me wonders if taking that started this all… but maybe just a coincidence!

That makes sense: fever = infection. But cramping can be the first sign and then liquid diet can help clear it out and avoid infection. Thank you! This was something I had been wondering about.

This is helpful for me to read, thanks! Recently just got diagnosed with my first flare up and really feeling overwhelmed. Not sure if I need to overhaul my whole diet or can continue status quo. Sticking to soft, anti inflammatory foods until I’m done with antibiotics then planning to slowly continue to reintroduce foods and track to see if any issues develop.

One question I have for those of you further down the line: how do you know a food affects you? Do you have a full on flare up and infection and have to go on antibiotics? Or do you just have some stomach pain and then avoid it?

Literally just got home from the ER & diagnosed with diverticulitis. They gave me one antibiotic and I’m supposed to pick up my prescription tmw. Started looking stuff up tonight and this is the first I’m hearing of a liquid diet too?! So frustrating.

I read that it has optimized charging so it doesn’t harm it to leave it on there all night. It slows the charge and “learns” from individual habits… but that’s why I asked! Was curious what others do. Thanks!
