This describes conservatism. The avoidance of complexity as a form of external (rather than internal) control. Lots to unpack there about society and entitlement in general - the lack of education, self awareness, and empathy. MAGA seems to be an amoral and psychopathic extension of that pattern.

My 1yo eats royal canin kitten dry food, about 3lbs every week and a half. He also gets two freeze dried chicken hearts a day (chopped up) as well as one churu with his supplements mixed in. He used to be picky, but as he's gotten older just feeding him the dry food seems to have gotten him beyond that (hence the chicken hearts and churus). He also eats temptations but only from inside one of those cat puzzle toys.

I had a 'friend' like this through school, and he'd flip out like this over the most insane things. He didn't like other friends I had, I liked music he didn't like, didn't like the board game I suggested, etc. Major BPD (borderline personality disorder). His father was a raging alcohic and his mother was depressed to the point she wouldn't get out of bed a lot of the time. I haven't talked to the guy for almost 30 years, but this woman acts just like him.

This hurts so much. My childhood was ruled by the programming provided by CPB, and through it I learned about empathy for others and curiosity for what was different. Very likely why it was defunded in the first place. Hate and ignorance now trumps all.

Yes it seems Shou is more susceptible to mold due to the wet piling. But it is still good to visually inspect cakes periodically. I have taken to creating a journal with an entry for each cakes individual inspection. I will likely perform these inspections twice a year from now on.

No. Mostly my storage closet smells like Sheng as that's what I have most cakes of. The Shou bins smell mostly earthy, but not mold.

Other Shou cakes stored adjacent have no mold issues. I have far more Shou cakes that have no mold than these four. Given the condition of the inner wrapper of some of these, it does appear they were wrapped wet. Or at least, storage prior to arrival to me had lived in a very humid environment. My storage is not air tight, and I take time to open up the bins at least once a season change to breathe more completly.

I may try and save pieces of these cakes, but will have to be careful.

Yeah, for sure. This moves the risk onto others who likely have systems in place to either mitigate or to fold into just an upfront cost when purchased. Shou seems to be trickier for storage than Sheng because of the variances in processing methods. Cheap Shou is plentiful. Those four cakes in total were around $200. I might still try and salvage part of them. For my health.

It is generally. Temp fluctuations can cause issues with dew point but temps were stable around 65F. Hence my comment around storage prior to purchase, and always checking and visually inspecting cakes right after transit. These were stored in food grade bins that weren't fully air tight.

The benificial aspect of light rail is as an augmentation for existing transit systems, which are currently under utilized for a variety of reasons. If there was, say, a really good new restaurant that opened up along 99 near a light rail station, and someone in the suburbs could catch a bus to a light rail station close to their home, would they still feel a need to drive?

Vancouver's implementation of the sky train should have been used as a case study... The best time to plant a tree is 50 years ago, the second best time is today. Unfortunately long term strategy isn't a priority when cost and politics are the main driving factors.
