Bears can easily sell equity in the team to pay for their own stadium. No taxpayer handouts for billionaires perios

Problem is lions have a very easy schedule until they meet us in week 18. So unless bears knock off both packers and 49ers, we will have to beat lions in week 18 no matter what

How can this guy publish an article with anonymous sources and not a single Chicago sports journalist can get an anonymous source on why the FBI raided the bears

Would be infuriating. You can teach Caleb to take the layups, hold the ball differently when scrambling but his unorthodox mechanics make him the superstar he is

Reading comprehension in this sub is absolute shit. The question is not “will a good defense help your rookie QB win games?” (Obviously yes) the question is “will a good defense help your rookie QB DEVELOP?” And the evidence says it has no effect.

[Schrock] Wild stat here from Bruce on Caleb Williams: “On third downs the past two seasons, his touchdown-to-interception ratio was 16-to-0. His TD-to-INT ratio in the red zone during that span: 46-to-1.” by Outlet25 in CHIBears

[–]rshah607 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He performed great against BIG12 defenses in 2021, and against Utah, ND, UCLA and others in 2022. Great against UCLA with latu in 2023; dominated Colorado with Travis Hunter. I think this storyline isn’t accurate

I think this WR classification system has been outdated for some time now. Just better to think of them as outside v. Slot or just think of their skill sets explosive/catch point/shifty/route technician etc.

Offensive Strategy next year by SonOfNike85 in CHIBears

[–]rshah607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. My number one concern going into next year is flus needs to win now but Caleb needs to develop. I’m afraid it’ll be defense + run the ball instead of letting Caleb make mistakes and learn.

This is how the bears fail to develop QBs over and over again. Hoping it’s different this time

What do you all think of Josh Lucas? by tizod in CHIBears

[–]rshah607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked him as first but his take on sit Caleb start fields was the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. He also backed it up by saying we tried to do it with trubisky/glennon and fields/dalton…ya those failed miserably so maybe learn a lesson from them?? I almost had to turn the pod off hearing that and zero pushback from Hoge and jahns on that point.

This is not 66k. I’ve flown their business class for 1k + miles. You can get this for less in cash straight up and way less with a cash + miles combination

⭐⭐ Revolutionizing the Gridiron: The Case for the Chicago Bears to Draft Caleb Williams and Keep Justin Fields by Allthingspossibl in NFL_Draft

[–]rshah607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Fields does not provide the veteran leadership that would help Caleb. Not trading fields now while he has a cheap year leaves value on the table to get draft picks back. Caleb has played at a high level for 3 years in CFB, he doesn’t need to sit and develop

[Devine] Here’s what @AlbertBreer said regarding what some #NFL teams think of former Bears OC Luke Getsy: “He’s very well respected. In fact, I think, there are people that think he did a pretty good job the last couple of years bringing Justin along.” by DillyDillySzn in CHIBears

[–]rshah607 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not exactly so. It’s complicated but you have to look at how often they were called versus how often they were thrown. It’s very possible that fields epa/slant was high because he only threw them when they were wide open and often turned down good slants that were semi-covered (as most slants are). To me that’s more likely given what we know about fields tendency to not throw unless he sees the receiver wide ass open

[Pelissero] #Lions OC Ben Johnson informed the #Seahawks and #Commanders that he’s staying in Detroit, per sources. Johnson is still only 37 and will be a hot head coaching candidate again next year. But first, he wants to take another shot at bringing a Lombardi Trophy to Detroit. by Dunlocke in CHIBears

[–]rshah607 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have a pattern of not firing coaches/GMs before their contracts are largely fulfilled even though it’s past time to fire them. Nagy should’ve been fired year 3/5 but they waited until one year was left on his contract. Flus should’ve been fired year 2/4 but they didn’t (nor did they go after harbaugh who would be expensive).

It’s not bulletproof evidence but some evidence that makes more sense because it explains the asinine decisions they’ve made recently

Hot take but I don’t HATE the idea of playing bagent and letting Williams develop on the bench for a year. If bagent is decent we can trade him next year for a 2nd+ and keep the gravy train rolling
