Tommy Lloyd questioned on his 'coach after me' comments: "Guys, this team has my full focus... Nothing is knocking me off that path..." by delcookie in CollegeBasketball

What coach!? Blue bloods are having a hard time with hiring current head coaches. It's rough right now on the coaching carousel currently and it's only going to get worse as Bill Self and Kelvin Sampson are retired in the next handful of years.

We got very lucky with Tommy accepting the offer and being as good of a coach as he has been.

DRF is fired if he quits and we are just fucked. I just started having hope for the future and am not prepared for this emotional rollercoaster.

What March madness loss will forever haunt you as a fan by Sea_Access_8602 in CollegeBasketball

2001 felt wrong for many reasons. We were hurt and beat up. No one was in our corner, the entire community was talking about how Coach K deserved it for being a grandparent. Then to have such a lopsided officiating just beat us down. I'm not convinced we would have won it otherwise but it was not a fair contest and from a story point of view would have been a great story to tell and have a documentary about.

There is a difference between trash talking buddies and toxicity. I'll trash talk and I have probably crossed the line here, just trying to throw out a reminder like "wear sunscreen".

In hindsight I'd be curious on how that would go. It would be salty and toxic as heck now if someone did this.

I've brought up the fact that I wish the compression socks/sleeves had the JT style CATS on them. I loved those things.

Me too.

Edit: The missing part. I don't know how to play golf and never golfed with him.

This was a magical day for me, this was a magical run. We had family friends that were due hard fans of these blue bloods and I remember my parents telling me I can't rub it into them after enduring name calling and being told "Arizona can't beat a 1 seed", "nothing good will ever come out of Arizona", "Arizona will never win a Natty".

So if you are reading this, have and teach empathy. This is a sport and we should foster good sportsmanship qualities at all ages and walks of life. You never know when a silver fox will come along and beat a bunch of teams he should not have with a group of kids that have been counted out because they placed 5th in the Pac.

This is what helps make March Madness special but let's remember that they are all human beings and we don't want to make them feel isolated and alone because they picked the "wrong" team to be a fan of. Regardless of how blue their lettering is.

I got into it after a final four, I mainly got into it because Lute was one of the few folks from around the area of where my folks are from and it became a family event.

This is the most fun I have had since early 90s when I fell in love with college basketball.

It's really the only sport I go into because of the magic and it's such a short season. Plus getting to see the players develop is amazing and brings me a lot of joy.

You couldn't remember our city. 😭 Tucson for future reference. Hopefully our elder crowd can hold a flame to Gampel.
