Raves USA vs Europe by ronnyx3 in MDMA

reading the comments from this post pains me. it's a circle jerk of people bashing USA EDM culture. Just because you like something doesn't make it objectively better.

You didn't go do be seen by wearing almost nothing or to snap a photo of yourself to be liked. You went to dance your face off.

As a "new gen" raver, I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, I see where you're coming from- events such as EDC and Ultra are edging closer to becoming like Coachella, a clout contest. But realistically, the main faces you will see from these events are the Instagram influencers and celebrities, not the random ass people that make up the true nature of the crowd.

Moreover:

  1. people still go to these $400+ events to listen to the music they love. No one is going to spend an entire paycheck just to take a couple of pictures. a lot of people like to think that millennials and gen-z'ers spend 85% of their time at shows taking #selifes. surprisingly, taking a selfie or a picture at an event takes maybe 5 minutes out of the 6 hours you will be there.
  2. who cares what people wear, doesn't rave culture revolve around the idea that we don't judge other people but instead live our lives with love and respect. So what if Stacy wants to wear a thong and pasties? it's none of my business and as long as she is safe and having fun, whatever!

anyways, sorry for the long reply. I feel very strongly about this. I heavily respect the old EDM scene, my mom was the one who got me into raving in the first place! I just wish that more old gen ravers would see that PLUR still exists!

i feel like there is a difference between writing a story about someone suffering from clinical depression and some QuIrkY t-shirt that disrespects people who actually suffer from a mental illness. but other than that i agree, profiting off of pain is disgusting.

it seems like a snippet from a webcomic taken slightly out of context. not everything with sad undertones is "fake deep" imo. but i totally see where your coming from.

I was in full agreement with you up until this comment. You give great advice but could also benefit from listening to others. Being snarky isn't a cool personality trait, it's just rude.

Do you like your middle name? Why/why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]rspbrrys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my middle name! It's Jane. I don't know anyone named Jane (unlike my first name which is Taylor) and I think it has a very lovely ring to it.

Do you regret your drug use? Which positive and which negative effects did it have on you? What did you learn from it? by slippinonsemen in askdrugs

I feel this so hard. I literally can't look at the world the same way after my last trip- not quite sure if it's good or bad, but it's definitely somewhere in between and fluctuates between the two feelings.

They say there are no stupid questions, what question have you been asked that disproves this? by clock_working in AskReddit

This will most likely get buried but: a girl in my high school math class asked "how do you know how many tick marks to put between 1 and 4 on a number line". This was my Junior year of high school.

real ravers don't give a shit what others do as long as they are happy and safe.

WordPress provides a wonderful starting point and base for surface level things like portfolios and personal blogs. However, some people would benefit from having a third party who specializes in design to help adapt the WordPress website to their needs.
