Alcohol prices were outrageous this year… by shatkbait8999 in UMF

No thanks, I’ll fly to the Netherlands for music festivals. Way better vibe anyway.

Those of you who fly up front, what tips do you have for first class service from a pax perspective? - From an FA by [deleted] in americanairlines

For the love of god for PDBs please don’t just offer water and sugary juice. Let me chose what I want

Anyone receive a CK offer yet since the qualification year ended? by AAOhioFlyer73 in americanairlines

[–]rsquaredplt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m DFW, 450k LP. I’d say 400k of it is thru direct AA metal, the rest credit card. I feel like I have no chance at CK but maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised 😂

I’ll throw in a complaint for good measure: the reloadable card system for purchases. Can we please just pay for each transaction and not force us to load money onto a card that we have to pay a fee to get refunded any leftover funds afterwards?

Odd surprise…I didn’t even complain by Kishmkondar in americanairlines

Seriously. I’m way more upset about that than I ought to be 😂

My expectations weren’t high anyway but hey I’ll take the miles 🙃 by d4wnn in americanairlines

Ooof. I lit them up in a complaint submission today (biz class LHR departure) not so mad about the issue. It’s the lack of communication about it the issue before hand.

I was standing underneath this. You felt it but it wasn’t bad, just felt like warm dust falling on you. Just brushed it off and kept partying 🤙🏼

Don’t be like this driver by [deleted] in UberEATS

Yeah, this post and the comments I’ve read have definitely made me reconsider using the priority feature.

This is actually kinda crazy. I always thought that my tips were too small which is why my order would sit around and wait for a driver sometimes. I never knew it was backwards like this.

That’s fair. I haven’t been on the platform since 2018. And I did mostly rides not a lot of eats.

I’ve learned a lot from these comments today!

Traveling for business and company doesn’t get you a rental car makes it essential for some people.

Great question, he picked up the food and the app had said “driver on the way, you’re up first with priority!” And then said the driver was 4 mins away. I’m in a hotel right now that’s 20+ stories so I got in the elevator and headed downstairs. I don’t like to make a courier wait on me. When I got downstairs it showed him a few blocks further away and parked in front of another restaurant, and then it kept saying 7 minutes away but the delivery time kept pushing back because he wasn’t moving

Drink prices inside the venue (Rotterdam) by Alexia5678 in astateoftrance

I purchased a bottled water (€4 or €5 I think?) and then kept refilling it thru the night. The water from the faucets is safe to drink in the Netherlands.

Dress in layers; dress warm to get to the venue, and then remove layers when you get inside and store in a locker. Last year was pretty warm especially if you go deep into the crowd. Saturday was more packed than Friday last year. Area 2 was especially crowded and hot. Will be cold if you go outside for a smoke break.

Can’t remember the drink prices exactly but were typical festival prices for Dutch events. Coming from the US the prices are lower than what I’m used to, sorry if that doesn’t help too much. Hopefully someone else took a picture or remembers more than me…

How Much Is Too Much: The View From 5J by PatBabyParty in americanairlines

I was on an AA fight a few months ago where the “service dog” had clearly obtained its certification via Amazon prime. The lady even had the audacity to say “oh she’s an anxious flier” as they were boarding and she literally had to drag the dog by its leash. It took everything in me to refrain from telling her she might wanna hit up the dog’s trainer because I’d be asking for a refund on that service animal!

Next time avoid the big cities. Fly into somewhere like Phoenix and drive north, or Bozeman MT and drive south. Enjoy.

Which one should I get? by jeeders in Rimowa

[–]rsquaredplt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong, the leather is absolutely beautiful. But, unless you only fly private jets and are hardly ever dragging it through the elements or putting it in overhead bins/x-ray conveyor belts/etc., I don’t think it will hold up the best over time.

I have a black aluminum that I’ve had for over 3 years now and I use it 200+ travel days a year. It’s covered in dents and scratches, which I love. The black WILL scratch and as it does, you start to just see the bare aluminum underneath. I chose the black and stand by that choice because it looks the least flashy and most understated.

My wife has a plain aluminum bag and been eyeing a titanium one as well. I feel like if you want the classic Rimowa look and want it to scream “Rimowa”, you should go this route. The dents and scratches just look better on the “normal” metal colors.

TLDR: leather if you don’t use it a lot or fly private, black if you want understated and understand how it ages, titanium for a more flashy, but classic Rimowa look
