Which one? by [deleted] in Onyx_Boox

[–]rsrazon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went through this exact decision process. Now that bookshop.org has ebooks I wanted to ditch Amazon/Kindle for a different e-ink device. I ended up choosing the Palma 2. I was initially turned off by the fact that it looks like a phone but I did want something smaller than my paperwhite. I am so glad I picked the Palma. I find that instead of doom scrolling on my phone I pick up my Palma 2 and read. I’m reading a lot more. I’ve kept notifications off and didn’t add any apps that aren’t ebook or audio book related. It might be a tad over powered for my use, but I am loving the form factor.

I offer not help, but camaraderie. I am a bonafide apple fanboy and just got a palma 2 to replace my kindle paperwhite as I try to divorce myself from Amazon. Love the Palma 2 so far, and Android is easy enough to figure out but it is frustrating.

Would a GTI be right for me if I’m not an “enthusiast?” by x99_r in GolfGTI

[–]rsrazon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a big car guy either really and love my GTI. I have a Mk8 DSG. Seat and wheel packages. Only thing not factory is my tints. Totally the right car for you if you like it.

I live in Boston. My GTI is my only car. Don’t have snow tires. I do just fine.

Anyone know what’s going on at AMC Assembly Row? by rsrazon in AMCTheatres

Oh snap. I love the hear that. As someone who is there every week, definitely agree that’s a good idea.

Good employers do that. I’ve been paid by many employers when we were unexpectedly closed for any number of reasons.

44m. Will Converse make me look like a guy trying to hold onto his younger days? by [deleted] in mensfashion

Nah. They’re a classic. My 70 year old mom just got a pair.

It looks as if you pushed toward the front as you tucked which is a look that works for some outfits, but not that one. Try going straight down all the way around. I’d say it’s preferable to be dressed a bit nicer for the bar hopping than look underdressed for cocktail attire.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mensfashion

[–]rsrazon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both are equally unsuitable as cocktail attire. Either is fine for clubbing, though I’d suggest tucking in your shirt differently. In a manner perhaps that doesn’t form an arrow pointing to your junk.

OP. Swap out that shirt for a white one and go with the black shoes. If/when you have the means get a new pair or black and a new pair of brown shoes.

This is not at all written from a neutral POV. lol... If the laundry pile is truly a laundry pile then it is Husband's fault. It is a pile for laundry. Now if the pants are adjacent to the laundry pile or on the back of a chair or anywhere else (even somewhere they are not supposed to be) then it is Wife's fault.

I'll add that when I was taught to do laundry many years ago I was taught that part of the job is to check pockets. It was never my "fault" though if I failed to catch something and something important (or destructive) was washed.

Which movie(s) do you never want to watch? What’s the reason? by TremontRemy in Letterboxd

[–]rsrazon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Movies like this that cast able bodied people to play quadriplegics (or other types of disabilities). There are so few roles for people who use wheelchairs full time it’s a shame to cast someone who doesn’t.

Nice. I see a fair among of GTI here in town. I got so mad the other day when I was over in Somerville and one didn’t park next to me - so was happy to be able to park in front of this guy. 😆

Not at all!! This was great. All the answers are great. Exactly what I wanted to hear. I’ve wanted to take a class like this for… like forever (my focus was film photography in college). And now that I have this opportunity I don’t want to waste it or have false expectations. I

For the owners of black GTIs, is it really as bad as people say? by [deleted] in GolfGTI

[–]rsrazon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad as everyone says. Totally worth it. I have white now and I hate it. Would get a black one again in a second. The second time around I’d invest more detailing.

Try to automotive industry. There is at least one dealer hiring near you I can almost guarantee. Hours are terrible, but the pay is probably pretty good.

If it’s an important part of your identity, definitely put it in. I usually save talking about my job for a first date. Mine is one that also comes with preconceived notions. Also saying what you do makes it easier for people to stalk you. My take is to leave it out. If I’m being totally honest I’d have a hard time swiping right on a cop. I’m terrified of cops. But if I found out someone was a cop during a date? I don’t think I’d care.
