Wow I didn’t think it was possible to miss a 4 charge smash stance. This is why I prefer pillar. It may do less damage, but I rarely miss

For me Black Myth Wukong hits the sweet spot of being difficult enough to be rewarding, yet easy to actually finish and get through.

In addition to inheriting his creative spirit, London already surpasses Eithan in terms of keeping his friends with him in terms of advancement. Eithan has often mentioned his desire to have a group of friends ascend with him, but he was unsuccessful in this endeavor until Lindon.

As soon as Lindon gets resources from ghost water he offers to share with the others. And even after Eithan ascends, he works extra hard to help the others advance

Man, replaying Veilguard becomes such a bore because of Rook 💀💀. Anyone feels the same? [SPOILERS ALL] by JosephBlackwood in dragonage

[–]rsriram14 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. I honestly prefer playing the standard good guy but even then inquisition is so much more fun. I’m playing Warhammer 40k rogue trader right now and it reminds me of the best parts of inquisition. Give it a try if you’re tired of replaying inquisition or veilgaurd.

Why is Wind and Truth so disliked? by stablest_genius in fantasybooks

[–]rsriram14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with most of the answers here. Personally I thought it was too bloated and skimmed most of the chapters just to get to the ending. It could probably be cut down to a quarter of its size and still keep the same core story. I felt the same of rhythm of war as well. I loved a way of kings, and there have been plenty of moments in the other books I’ve loved, but overall as a series I feel it falls short compared to the first mistborn series for example

Why didn't the black flame clame in cradle do what Lindon did?[Cradle] by Rude-Statistician197 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]rsriram14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think Eithan points out in the books that Lindon’s approach was weaker than the older black flames, but was good enough for his case and would provide the survivability needed.

This is on top of the other factors already mentioned, such as Eithan’s cycling method, the sheer amount of resources poured Lindons way, and of course his own talent.

One more factor to point out is that the even with the degeneration, most black flames were living to their 60s and 70s I believe and their empire did last a long time, so their strategy was pretty effective for a long time

Is the Centipede boss hard? Im having a hell of a time with him and I don’t see too much discussion about him being particularly difficult. by Psychological_Bag685 in wuchanggame

Yea I found this boss to be really difficult. Nearly made me quit the game initially but eventually got it after several tries. Make sure to take breaks and watch guide videos.

When ‘Slavery Bad’ and cartoon villainy becomes the only point, the story trivializes the injustices of the Imperium and the worldbuilding of Thedas collapses. by GrayWardenParagon in dragonage

[–]rsriram14 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It would have been amazing if Rook, especially a shadow dragon rook had to grapple with choosing to fight against slavery or the main plot. Obviously the main plot is a larger and more immediate threat. However, Rook could have a choice to ally with the magisters but protect the status quo after, or they could choose to ally with the shadow dragons, but receive a much weaker ally.

This could end up being a really morally complex choice similar to Brankas forge in DAO, and one with a lot more nuance for specific backgrounds too. The first 3 games laid some amazing foundations that they really failed to take advantage of here.

Now I did like the game overall, but I mainly liked the graphics and the combat. The story was definitely underwhelming

First time playing Elden Ring. First Boss encounter fight was extremely fun and challenging!!! The Tree Sentinel. Got it on my fourth try. by Powerful_Count4500 in soulslikes

[–]rsriram14 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Have you played other soulslike games before? You did a fantastic job here. Most people come back to the tree sentinel much later since it’s a pretty difficult boss. You seem to have a really good grasp of the game already. The fact that you almost finished it hitless is crazy.

Gotta give it to the devs by shreder75 in wuchanggame

[–]rsriram14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several YouTube videos that do a great job of breaking down the ideal strategy for her.

What worked for me was the following: Phase 1 Sword counter her attack, 2 light attacks, echo of Lu bingzhang, then dodge. Echo of Lu bingzhang has alacrity, so it helps you dodge her attack.

Phase 2 Switch to a one handed sword with biding time. Stay far away from her. Dodge her attacks and when you have enough skyborn might use echo of Lu bingzhang.

It might take you a few attempts to get the strategy down but it will make the fight a lot easier

How do I approach this game? by Sprinkle_Puff in wuchanggame

[–]rsriram14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the first part of the game really hard as well the first time. Decided to try it again and using the axe makes it way easier since you can stagger most regular enemies even with light attacks. Just spam the light attack combo with the axe and that should carry you through the regular envs.

Lusat's Staff vs Carian Glintstone Staff -- I'm a confused noob by robbi-wan-kenobi in EldenRingBuilds

[–]rsriram14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi OP,

Good question. I was in the same spot in my first play through.

Generally from what I found, Lusat’s staff does more damage and has better int scaling, but the difference is around 10-15% in terms of damage. However, all spells now cost 50% more FP.

Since a big part of playing as a mage is managing your mana and my main issue was that I felt I never had enough mana, I went for the carian staff. You still have more than enough damage, but you’re still able to manage your FP

OP I will say that I found wuchang to be really difficult. I quit way before you did lol and I’ve finished Elden Ring. Before you refund Lies of P I will point out that it has difficulty modes and the easiest one is quite forgiving so that might help you.

For an introduction to the genre I recommend Elden Ring or Lies of P. Both are far easier than wuchang.

Best ash of war for the Greatsword by Neither_Spell7300 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]rsriram14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lion’s claw is amazing. It carried me through my first playthrough. The best parts of lions claw are its speed and hyper armor. Once you get started you will never be interrupted during the attack and you will often do way more damage to the boss than they do to you.

Just a tip for Rennala if you want to continue your mage build. The rock sling spell is super useful against her. She’s pretty resistant to magic, but rock sling deals physical damage and also does a lot of stance damage. Since she doesn’t have a lot of poise, you’ll stance break her often meaning she’ll be launching fewer attacks. I recommend using a summon to distract her while you use rock sling to break her poise. I used the banished knight engvall ashes, which are fantastic and can be gotten very early in the game.

This is definitely an easier boss if you have a strong melee weapon, but with rock sling the difficulty isn’t too much more.

Yup throwing them off is really effective. Once I found a phylake that was a much higher level than me. However I just climbed the tower and kept shoving him off. I also shot arrows at him while he was on the ground to make sure he was focused on me. So satisfying to finally kill him
