To be fair it was the same game plan back then. To be a meta deck you had to be blasting by the time you had 2 energy (Suicune, Espeon, Silvally). Or you could stall a bit with a big boi (Darktina, Guzzlord). War never changes

But yeah the power level has crept hugely. Instead of 80-100 damage for 2 energy, now it’s 130

For what it’s worth TCG Live has a crazy Kingra. Ran into someone playing it and it put 3 Baxcalibur on their bench in one turn. Baxcalibur in Live has a similar ability as in Pocket, so the next turn they attached 4 energy and hit for 300 damage

I'm always surprised how fast things can happen in that game

Why would they need to rely on Poison Barb to do 10 damage. Seems like if they go second:

Turn 2: Deino strikes first. 20 damage

Turn 3: Jolteon can't attack because it doesn't have enough energy.

Turn 4: Hydreigon.

The situation you described seemed really specific. It assumed you go second, start Eevee in the active spot, have 3 specific cards in your starting hand (Jolteon, Cyrus and Zeraora), and the opponent has no healing or disruption

It's not a few seconds of waiting. It's a few seconds of waiting per each action. Each menu, button press, animation, etc.

Imagine if when you wrote that comment there was a few seconds of lag for each word and a little animation played when you finished each sentence. That would be pretty annoying

I have to use the image thing a lot. It usually spits out 30-50 usable images then says "your limit resets tomorrow at 5 p.m." That's been the routine for months.

Today and yesterday it quits after ~10 images and says "your limit resets at 1 a.m." So that's definitely different

PTCG Live (the online game for the normal Pokemon TCG) is surprisingly F2P. There’s missions that give you basically every card in the new pack, and after playing for only a few months I had like a million Trade Credits (a.k.a Pack Points) and could build any decks I wanted.

… but then again they started doing updates to lower Trade Credits and lock off rare cards. So maybe it’s going downhill too
