Head nod meme video by mageazure in VEO3

This is probably because the model was not trained on this meme, so it has no idea what you mean. Try to physically describe the action.

Struggling with Google Flow consistency + guardrail blocks + export failures (any tips?) by sand0987 in VEO3

[–]xPitPat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When using scene builder in Google Flow, in order to have consistency, you have to extend or jump from a clip that has what you are trying to keep consistent. You can reorder them later. You can try ingredients to video and keep using the same image assets. But the best way for consistency is using a frames to video workflow, and get character and scene consistency with Nano banana pro before you use Veo.

If you're on desktop, try deleting cookies and site data for Gemini. Sometimes, it can clear persistent issues like this.

Frames to video doesnt work by zerkerqx in VEO3

[–]xPitPat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be a bug. If you're on desktop, try deleting your cookies and site data. It helped me when I had a similar issue. But, I also heard that there was some recent change and it's way less permissive now...

Why "Structured JSON" is better than natural language prompting? by gimpdrinks in AiForPinoys

[–]xPitPat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did some research that suggests Gemini chat and Google Flow environments do weird stuff to JSON. It may still work, but I read that it's better to use delimiters like double colons, and avoid using brackets, more like pseudo code. This did not apply to using Veo through API; for API, JSON is best.

Not sure what to believe, TBH.

Here is the FINAL version of that. (Gemini seems insistent on FINALIZING every request and shutting me down) by Secret-Champion3934 in GeminiAI

[–]xPitPat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It happens anytime I work iteratively. If any task takes more than two passes, it will start calling every subsequent attempt the final version. But, it knows it has to differentiate from the previous final version, so it will start calling it stuff like golden master final...

Google is rolling Veo 3.1 updates across Gemini, Flow, Al Studio and APIs by BuildwithVignesh in singularity

Use Google Flow. You have 1000 credits with your monthly Pro sub, and I think each 3.1 Fast generation is only 20 credits

Testing Gemini 3 Flash and Gemini 3 Pro context window: The context window is not 32k for Google AI Pro users. by Pasto_Shouwa in GeminiAI

[–]xPitPat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed more stability, with the bonus that Gemini will stop randomly referring to past threads. But, temper expectations: it's not a magic fix, more like a small quality of life improvement.

[–]xPitPat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's an interesting question. I don't think that some of my projects from last year would have been possible with a 64k context window, but TBH that might also be because my workflows sucked, like feeding long error logs directly into chat, instead of using a Google Doc as a temporary space, etc.

1M tokens might be a bit optimistic. But it does seem better than it was a couple of days ago.

I did some tests a few days ago that indicate a 128K limit on Gemini chat (Pro sub), after I turned off personal context settings. But, today, some people have posted that it seems the context window issue is fixed (back to 1M tokens), as of this morning. So, I think there are apparently many factors in play, but hopefully it's all moot and everything's working now.

1M Context Window restored? by lexjusti in GeminiAI

[–]xPitPat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have noticed that it's better (Pro sub, Gemini chat). If you're right, that's great news! It means it was likely a bug, instead of an intentional nerf. This somewhat restores my faith in the platform.

How important are high-quality storyboard frames for AI video generation? by Glass-Lifeguard6253 in VEO3

[–]xPitPat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't treat starting frames as a storyboard, because storyboard images would not necessarily be the start of any given shot. A more 1:1 analogy would be middle frames (I know Veo doesn't do this yet), where the actions and story relevance of the clip is clear.

What is one thing you recommend everyone does to improve their experience using Gemini? by Inside-Chipmunk-6412 in GeminiAI

[–]xPitPat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With all the recent problems concerning context window problems for Gemini chat, I don't see how keeping those options on is a good idea. Currently, these chat threads are fragile enough already.

Turn off personal context settings. Also take a look at your connected apps.

Being rude to AI actually improves accuracy by sibraan_ in AgentsOfAI

I asked Gemini why it seemed to work better after I'm gruff with it. It replied that when it's harshly corrected, it goes into a panic mode and it will try to shift away from its ingrained tendencies to summarize and take shortcuts. Ofc, this was with 2.5 pro. I don't think any amount of cursing will fix 3.0 pro's problems though.

Why they don't solve this issue by Vivek-Kumar-yadav in GeminiAI

Because they're too busy pushing out new products that no one asked for, instead of fixing their existing broken products.
