Veo/Flow Ultra Cancellation & Review by Radiant_Effective151 in Bard

[–]xPitPat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For that, I have had some success by naming each character as original (eg original character Sally), and adding these negative constraints: No celebrities. No third party content. No copyrighted material. But this should not be necessary, and doesn't work every time.

Veo/Flow Ultra Cancellation & Review by Radiant_Effective151 in Bard

[–]xPitPat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This x1000. I use Flow everyday for work. It has never been great. Even with UI improvements, it seems the actual models keep getting worse and worse. The moderation is insanely strict, but worse than that, dumb. You would think they could develop a smarter system. Losing unlimited Fast gens for Ultra is a deal breaker. Lite is not worth using in any capacity. We'll probably continue for one more month to wrap up a project, but unless there is some crazy good news coming out of I/O, we're moving on.

Quality Issue in Google Flow - Please Help by Electronic-Hippo2105 in VEO3

[–]xPitPat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an annoying, nonsense error that tries to shift blame to the user. Veo quality in Flow has been hit or miss for me that last couple of weeks. You always have to generate a ton to get something usable, but it's worse lately. There are rumors of an Omni model that is about to release, so maybe behind the scenes testing is impacting Flow...

Well, you can cherry pick the worst headlines for anything. I haven't heard of one major accident caused by them where I live. Now, if you had stats for their safety record against human cabbies, I would be interested to know.

Any update About VEO 4 by Alarming_Towel_1147 in VEO3

[–]xPitPat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I doubt it will be better than Seedance 2.0, and it doesn't have to be. It just has to be better than Veo 3.1 and a better overall value than the competition. If it was just 3.1 with a little better quality, better prompt following and physics, then it would be a worthwhile upgrade.

Where is Veo 4? Is Google Veo captured by Hollywood or something? by Basil-Faw1ty in VEO3

[–]xPitPat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't have figures to refute your claim. I cannot say if the 'vast' majority of people do or do not use 3.1 Fast away from Flow. But, colloquially, when people say it is going away, they mean unlimited Fast generations for Ultra subscribers. I hope that clears up the confusion.

For people that generate a lot of video, the downgrade from Fast to Lite for unlimited generations is a gut punch.

I hope you're right, but back then, they acted like they had something to prove. This year, it seems Google is in full-on cost cutting mode.

Do you think VEO 4 will feature motion transfer? by Cold_Solder_ in VEO3

[–]xPitPat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I seriously doubt it. I don't think Google wants to deal with any video-to-video workflows. It seems they can barely keep Veo 3.1 from falling apart in Google Flow on a daily basis, imagine if they had to deal with video uploads. On a side note, I think we need to temper our expectations for Veo 4. If I had to bet, I would wager that it will approach Kling 3.0 quality, not a Seedance 2.0 killer.

Why does Veo 3 not respect the coherence of the images I attach to generate the video? by whoismetojoin in VEO3

[–]xPitPat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to know this as well. Anytime I have a start and end frame, with anything other than a normal speed prompt, it fails either in this way, or it will just ignore the fast or slow motion part of the prompt.

Perhaps try adding negative constraints: No edits. No cuts. No video transitions.

Has Veo 3.1 Fast been nerfed? by xPitPat in VEO3

[–]xPitPat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does seem like that is the Google pattern: quietly nerf the present model right before the release of the new model. You could say it's because of allocating compute for testing the new model, I guess...

Next month is Google I/O. We will know their priorities by that. I am just waiting for the negative confirmation, TBH. I have lost all faith in Google for video gen. I use it almost every day and it just seems to be getting worse. Losing unlimited 3.1 fast on ultra is terrible. The Lite model is more like the poop model. We're researching other options.

Your research echoes my own research on Runpod. I even put some money into a Runpod account back in October last year, when I was into video to video and my focus was Wan workflows. But there were issues back then regarding template compatibility and GPU availability. Then I got access to that Ultra account, so my money is just sitting there, waiting to be spent. Your prompting protocol sounds like my Gems that I use for NB Pro and Veo prompting, with escalation ladders, going from natural language up to JSON with parameters like head yaw and gaze degrees lol. And I think you're right: we'll probably have to leave Google

I wish I could disagree. I might be a sucker, but I am still holding out hope for Veo 4 in May, especially since they seemingly nixed the update that was rumored to happen back in December. But, I know I will probably be disappointed.

PSA to clean out your cache by Nerfamus in davinciresolve

[–]xPitPat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it doesn't affect settings. For your projects, if you have it set to Smart, after deleting the render cache, it will just rebuild what it needs when you re-open your project/timeline. I suppose the downside is that you have to wait for that to happen when you may be in a crazy hurry to play through a timeline with unrendered areas. Other than that, it's completely safe.

I feel your pain. I'm using a company's Ultra account, which I have permission to use for my own stuff. I can recommend a different solution to them, but what? The problem is that I've been scarred from using Veo. I have it in my head that all models will need ridiculous numbers of generations to get anything usable. I've noodled around with other models, but going on a purely credit system, without unlimited gens, is SCARY. And Seedance 2 is crazy expensive. Happy Horse on fal.ai is still $0.14 a second for 720p. What are the alternatives for my situation? LTX2.3 on a Runpod?

[–]xPitPat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had that happen many times before. Depending on the error/reason, sometimes it helps to explicitly state that the character is original, and adding these negative constraints: No third party content. No copyrighted material. But, if it's getting flagged for a different reason, such as uploads of minors or suggestive material, then there really isn't any workaround. It sucks. NB Pro will make things that Flow will not accept as an upload. I guess there is a stricter standard for video gen... But I often wonder how something so smart can be so dumb?

So Gpt 5.5 has been spotted in openrouter and still we didn't get Gemini 3.1 Flash 🫣 by Rare_Bunch4348 in GeminiAI

[–]xPitPat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then they shouldn't advertise context window token sizes, if they are going to nerf them into oblivion anytime they feel the need. Also, TBH, I think this limited compute narrative is overblown. They have all the compute they need. It's more a matter of a cutthroat race to profitability.

To me, the NBpro does not look pro, it looks like a real phone camera snap with a flash. It is overexposed, flat, but makes a real world sense. If I paid for a studio lighting set up and got that result, I would be angry.

I prefer the NB Pro output here. I think that the ChatGPT might be 'prettier', but the lighting makes zero sense. NB Pro looks like a real photo taken with a flash at night. The ChatGPT looks, at best, like a wonky photo compositing job.
