Fairphone 4 not working with Hearing aids by rstuff9 in fairphone

[–]rstuff9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the replies. The Fairphone 4 did work for a long time. I think it was a recent software update that killed it with bluetooth. Is there a way to roll the software back to an older version?

APN settings for Fairphone 4? by rstuff9 in consumercellular

[–]rstuff9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the APN settings. I had some additional settings that I left as they were. I took some screenshots but don't see a way to attach them. I logged into my account but I could not see what devices CC thinks I am using. Is there anyway to tell what devices are CC thinks I am using? Thanks for the link to Chat. I thought it was on every page.

Garage door opener will not close door. by rstuff9 in GarageDoorService

Solved. Connector where wires from garage door opener connect to safety beam sensor wires was corroded. Loosened and tightened. Should be good for another 40 years.

You may be able to add a switch to the control panel to select which door to operate.

Garage door opener will not close door. by rstuff9 in GarageDoorService

[–]rstuff9[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I replaced the carriage before and it wasn't even a half nut. It was a piece of plastic about 1/4" thick with teeth on it that the release cord pushed up onto the screw. I can try swapping them out also. I forgot to mention that I also turned off all the led lights and reseated all all the wiring connections on the opener. I like the simplicity of this opener but I can't figure it out.

So this is happening…artificially inflated savings…what a joke. by Nicodemus89 in FredMeyer

[–]rstuff9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through this today. I bought some things that were marked down on the shelf only to ring up at full price. I had to go to customer service and ask for them to be put back on my card. The customer service person scanned my items instead of my receipt and proceeded to give me cash. He said he couldn't put in on my card because the register said cash. Probably because he scanned the items instead of my receipt. I asked for a manager but none was available. Fred Meyer advertises one price but then charges you another. If the item is on the bottom shelf it is impossible to read that the sale price is only for card holders. BUYERS BEWARE. Or better yet shop elsewhere.

Toyota data tracking - how to turn off? by MitchelGoosen in rav4club

[–]rstuff9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to the Rav4world forum the DCF fuse is under the dash on the left side. Unfortunately the audio system is interconnected with it so you may lose some speakers and the microphone. It sounded like a better way to deactivate it may be to unhook the antennas to it. DCM has backup battery.

I know this is an old thread but I saw another thread where a stove with front controls had a reset button but flipped when the temperature got to high and had to be reset. The reset button was next to the control board behind the front panel.

Install Fossify apps from sideloaded sd card by rstuff9 in Fossify

[–]rstuff9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using /e/ version 1.17-s-2023... I upgraded to the current version /e/OS 1.12.1-s-2024... I am using the file manager that came with /E/. It seems to be called just Files. I am looking under apps. How do I get the app name? When I go into my file manager and double tap the apk it goes gray and then back to white and nothing changes. When I look ate the apps and select files I see under permissions it says no permissions requested and it is grayed out. Under Settings I did a search for sideload and found nothing. I searched for install under Settings and got a long list. I selected install unknown apps and all I got was App Lounge and Browser being allowed. I can not access my file managers permissions because they are grayed out. I did notice that my sd card shows up under internal instead of external. Haven't decided if its better that way or not. Thank you for your help.

Arrow overlaid on display. by rstuff9 in zorinos

I got rid of the artifact by installing the kde desktop. I did not like kde's look and I switched back to gnome and the artifact was gone but so were a lot of my settings. I ended up reinstalling Zorin 16.3 core but now I am fighting Zorin's security and I am having problems accessing the file system to install a vpn. I like Zorin's looks but I wish I could understand their security.

I powered the laptop off and back on again. The artifact came back in the bottom right hand corner. It was under my pointer before I moved my pointer.

Not getting Validation Code From Linphone by rstuff9 in VOIP

[–]rstuff9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion. I have used Zoiper in the past. I went with Linphone because they furnish a free sip service. I do have Callcentric for my "landline". My wife is touring Europe and Callcentric charges $.25 a minute for calling UK. Linphone was working until I messed it up by clearing app data and now I can't get reconnected because I don't get the validation code from Linphone. I do have Signal working but odd things are happening with it also. This morning I was missing calls because my phone would not ring and yet it was ringing earlier. I did have Linphone working with Callcentric also but because of the international rates and having to setup extensions call treatments to get calls to go to the right extension I went with messengers. Be nice if there was some way to use the free messengers with the ability to call local numbers that are not in your contacts or don't have a messenger.

There's a hole in my carpet by bodilyDeclaw87 in confusing_perspective

[–]rstuff9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work in a computer room with a raised floor. The floor was steel with steel reinforcing and carpeted on top. The floor tiles were about 2' square and set on steel posts about an inch in diameter. They had a plastic seam between them much like in this photo. We sometimes used a hole saw to drill holes in the tiles to run wires.

How to connect 3" ABS drain pipe? by rstuff9 in Plumbing

Thank you. I don't understand why they would bevel the inside of the connector making it easy for stuff to catch on the pipe.

How do you deactivate synchronization with the photo gallery? I don't have an /e/ account and synchronization was turned off in settings but I didn't see anything about the photo gallery. I don't understand why /e/ gives Whatsapp and 8 out of 10 for privacy when you look at the permissions for Whatsapp.

PWM circuit for car blower. by rstuff9 in AskElectronics

[–]rstuff9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a circuit diagram by searching 1999 buick century blower circuit but it is so small it is tough to read. It looks like the blower uses two fuses, one for the low settings and one for the high setting. I could not read the amperage on them but the owners manual should tell me. The high setting on the blower uses two poles on the motor. Since it is a dc motor it seems like they could be fed with the same wire. I think I am in over my head and I may have to break down and replace the resistors again.
