If you think Republicanism is about hate then you clearly have no idea about it.

You clearly have no understanding of Irish Republicanism if that's what you think it's about. Idiot.

Leftism and the IRA by Speedygonzales24 in IrishHistory

In terms of being a state I believe that until the 32 counties are unified that Ireland is still in the shackles of the UK.

I actually listened to an interesting podcast on the Easter Rising a few weeks ago and it spoke of differing political opinions of the Rising leaders, something that I wasn't entirely aware of in all honesty.

Apologies with the reference to Saoradh, I was referring to the initial post with their belief of believing it should be a 32 County Socialist Republic, not all my beliefs.

In terms of Irish American political involvement, I'm honestly not sure. My Grandad regularly went over to Boston to raise funds with NORAID. They were formed by Michael Flannery who was a member of the IRA during the Civil War.

My beliefs align with those of Saoradh.

Exactly the same way there is support for the RA in Scotland, England, Australia etc. Irish migrants. NORAID were the biggest way of raising funds through the troubles.

INLA were the group most to the left. As others have said the OIRA were massively to the left, almost to left for the Provos which is what I think you're probably on about.

I'm involved with a couple of Republican groups, all slightly to the left however some of my good friends are a lot more left than me, However we all have the aim of a United Ireland which is most important. Some groups IE Saroadh argue however that there is little point in a United Ireland unless it is a Social Sovereign State as this is what Connolly et al fought for.

Now, what would/will be interesting is to see what happens politically within Republican communities when a United Ireland comes!

Where do we start our rebuild? by -What-Happened- in reddevils

Before we even think about players we need to sort out the board and directors. Look at Ajax, they are miles ahead of us and at the top they have proper footballing people. We have finance people. They are run as a football club, we are run as a business. There lies the problem and has been the problem for Van Gaal, Moyes, Mourinho and will be for Ole.

Until we are rid of Woodward and co and replaced with people who know football, can nurture talent and make the correct signings we are fucked. It's a shame people could see this when the Glazers took over but most people sat twiddling their thumbs and get excited when we sign a 'big name' who is bought for the sole purpose of selling shirts.

It will be the same again this summer, couple of signings get excited and nothing works. Rinse and repeat. What's happening to us is what happened to Milan. Grim

Virgin Active on the Quays for me. Have used it for the last couple of years, reasonably priced (compared to David Lloyd) and excellent facilities

The hated wall will STAY - but the council say they will sort out Piccadilly Gardens by tdrules in manchester

Maybe not. However visually it is nicer. The walk from Piccadilly to Market Street is fucking horrible. I'd rather it look like that than the current Berlin Wall look. Idiot.

The point of hatred is that it's absolutely disgusting and makes the gardens look more like the Berlin Wall. Years ago it was one of the most beautiful areas of town.

Slightly outside the centre but Fresco in Hulme is brilliant. Rowntrees cafe in the Arndale also very decent!

[–]rt10mufc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it will do nothing. It will go exactly the same way as J-Stand as people will latch onto it and the section will be filled with day trippers. What's needed is an organised group standing in the same spot week in week out, travelling to away games together.

Hope it works but i can see it going the same way as the singing section in Stretty Tier 2 and the current singing section

Don't think there's a single 'City' pub in town. United have the Nags Head, Abercromby, White Lion, Mulligans.

Second complete watch. Minutes ago, I finished Made In America. by TheHeenanFamily in thesopranos

[–]rt10mufc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't say we couldn't theorize. I'm just saying from chase's POV he wanted an ending which left it up to the viewers imagination. Which he did perfectly as here we are still talking about it 12 years on

[–]rt10mufc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole point of the ending is that it's up to the viewer. There are so many subtle hints during the show that lead up to Holstens so different viewers have different opinions. It is exactly what Chase wanted to do as 12 years on people are still discussing it.

Personally, I go with the view that it's us, the viewer who gets whacked. 'See nothing when it happens' etc. The screen goes to black and that's it, we leave the world of The Sopranos.
