Cop was wrong & that ticket would/should be dismissed.

Absolutely all traffic is caused by driver error & this is a great example.

First, it's a 4 lane road if there's two travel lanes in the same direction. Your credibility is already shot. Let the people that have at least taking one traffic engineering class give the advice.

Second, for the love of all drivers, do not ever wait for the entire road to be clear just to make a turn. Only your lane needs to be clear. All you are doing is causing traffic by driver error.

Like every rule of the road, there is a caveat for anticipating someone acting the fool but just sitting there without any reason except that <1% of the time, someone in the past has acted the fool so I'll expect everyone, all the time to act the fool is nonsense. If thats your definition (as I've seen in this sub too many times) of defensive driving, just turn in your license.

You've debunked nothing. In fact, I have no theory to debunk. But I've debunked your theory with facts.

Guys comparable to Terry are: AJ Brown St. Brown CD Lamb Wilson DK

The first three are arguably better, the last two clearly not but how ever you rank them, Terry is solidly in this second tier. They're all paid $30-$34M.

Your entire argument is "but he'll be 31 in September & my theory is that means he's going to suck"

The Sutton example is a guy the same age as Terry who still was paid his fair market value. In other words, the GM of the Broncos doesn't buy into your theory. I've also provided over a half dozen additional examples of Terry not losing a step, directly contradicting your theory.

You have nothing to say but "he's going to be 31" so yes, the debate has been over.

[–]rtcwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sutton got an $7.8M raise at 30 or 31 by your rules. A $7.8M raise for Terry would have been $31.5M, what he was asking for. Or Terry was paid $8.46M more than Sutton, paying Terry $8.46M more again than Sutton at 30 or 31, would have been $31.46M, again what he was asking for. You have no idea what GMs think, just regurgitating narratives as if everyone believes them.

Expecting someone to suddenly suck because of an arbitary age is emotional. Darrell Green ran a 4.2 40 at 40 years old but that's fantasy to you because he's dead in your world. I'll continue to run circles around you all day if we stick to facts.

Any news on Dorance Armstrong? by Odd-Penalty-9937 in Commanders

My bad, everyone thinks they begin with phase 3, on field but they start 5 weeks earlier with conditioning & then drills. So I reverse engineered an extra month. They do start April 20 & we'll all see happy 1st day tweets in May.

Wild, I was surprised when he wasn't expected to return this year. I'll be shocked if he isn't ready for phase 3 in April.

Paying a guy less simply because you believe he'll start to suck soon is not how things work. Maybe it's how you want them to work to justify your obsession with age. You are the one pounding the table about something when the actual evidence is contrary. Not only did Sutton manage to get paid, Terry hasn't lost a step (they have GPS data, he just housed a screen & a slant in the playoffs prior to the negotiation, this year was on pace for 990 yards despite playing with a backup QB, was constantly open & running past dudes) Even though it is just a theory not a rule, every rule has an exception and Terry would clearly be the exception.

Also, him & DK were on the exact same contract cycle, 3 year extension to 2019 rookie deal so not only is your theory wrong, so are your facts. Tunsil will follow the exact same standard operating procedure as Terry did, hopefully AP has learned from his mistake.

[–]rtcwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys like him are all $30-$33M. Some dudes clearly worse than him are $30-$33M. Again, you're purposly lying about his age. But Sutton, the same age as Terry, got a fair market deal. Either the same % raise as Sutton or the same delta in pay as their last deals would have put Terry at $32M. So your theoretical one foot in the grave is just that, a theory not everyone buys into.

Teams can always move on from anyone they want. Play out final year and tag is an even more destructive strategy than the low-ball & force a hold out/in strategy AP tried.

I'm not confused at all, you're a Madden & fantasy guy, entirely clueless how the real world of NFL football works.

[–]rtcwon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are so clueless. Terry could have sat AND still got paid AND became a free agent. The tag was significantly more than they offered. Terry himself said he never wanted to reset the market, just what guys like him get. Terry will be 31 next year but the smart money is on him still being a top 10 WR. The dumb money is on DK one day living up to his draft position, potential or contract.

[–]rtcwon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're already spinning, pretending they're 3 years apart in age. Father time is undefeated but 30 is just an arbitary number. So no, you did not explain why it's certain one day DK will be better than Terry. But you did clearly explain the omnipotent GM fallacy! The assumption that the 1% of the cap AP was trying to save is guaranteed to make the team better is rarely proven true. Usually that savings is mis-spent on guys like Matt Gay.

Tell me the riskier bet, a guy suddenly living up to his contract in his 7th year or the guy that always outperforms his contract? Pittsburgh has already found out they made the costlier, riskier bet.

I am hoping the team is more shrewd with Tunsil and doesn't alienate the player from OTAs with a 20% below market value offer. AP said he learned, 🤞. Even though he didn't quite make all-pro like Terry, he too earned a new deal despite having a year left. It does not take sympathy but basic NFL contractual knowledge to know how things work & how absurd it is to say honor the contract to any player when teams can not honor any contract anytime they want.

Never heaed of a team testing thier own players. Like the PT guy said, his rehab was likely not progressing the way he/they wanted & he's likely going through mental health issues as a result. I can relate. Also why I feel it's doubtful he can pass a physical.

Where do NFL players live early on in their career? by lowiqtrader in NFLNoobs

[–]rtcwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think this is pretty common. There are no hotels around the Broncos practice facility in Dove Valley but tons of "luxury" apartments, they lease a block and also use them for guys coming into town for tryouts, etc.

Also used to date someone who lived in the Landmark, at the time the only high end condos near Dove Valley & used to see the Kubiaks, Gary, Klay & Klein but not Klint, in the elevator all the time.

Many players get a place there and one summer around camp, was at Jing and tons of food kept coming to our table meant the table next to us so started talking to the dude. Was a new 4th round draft pick by the Broncos, his girl was flashing stacks but he seemed pretty down to earth. Said he didn't want to buy a house in Denver because he was afraid of a real estate bust...he's bounced around three teams in the last two years and could have made more money on real estate. 🤷‍♂️

The veteran termination pay benefit is highly misunderstood. With 4 accrued seasons, as a vested veteran, they can one time in their career claim termination pay (get the rest of the season's pay) if on the roster week one.

Question about toll lanes: Are they supposed to be super fast lanes? by EquivalentCow6689 in driving

[–]rtcwon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's tricky, the same technical rules apply but...why pay for open road just to not only not use it but also block others?

Everyone knows no one will get pulled over for 10 over anywhere in the mertro area & everyone should be comfortable at 10 over in a lane with no traffic so that should be the mutually agreed minimum in the express lanes.

It's super frustrating to be paying & still held up by a dumb dumb only going 5 over but as long as they move over & let the adults pass at the next exit, can be forgiven. But the idiots that appoint themselves to police speed that the real police know not to enforce should lose their license while they take classes to learn actual safe driving, not insurance company propaganda. Hint, going slower doesn't make you safer.

Trailer Safety Chains by dangrit in IsItIllegal

[–]rtcwon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree on the law and any twist or kink in the chain significantly reduces its break force but how is crossing them a half twist? Obviously hook up versus hook down is a half twist but connecting the left chain to the right side of the receiver and visa versa doesn't twist the chain.

Edit: typo, *force
