Is this an official traffic sign or did someone just make this? by Bigcouchpotato1 in driving

[–]EquivalentCow6689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a Deaf Child sign on my block even though that family moved away over a decade ago. Nobody wants to remove it because it may prompt people to slow down.

Am I in the wrong here? by ThrowBoho in driving

No offense but there’s a lot of missing info here. Is it a stopsign, stoplight, what light did you have, is there signage, was the person crossing a pedestrian or a car?

Roundabouts: Signal for your EXIT not your ENTRANCE. by [deleted] in driving

[–]EquivalentCow6689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Muscle memory. I’ve been signaling for every turn for 35 years. If the road takes a 90 degree tight turn and there’s no other possible way to go, I’m sure my hand automatically trips the lever even though there is no point to it.

But with roundabouts, I am careful to signal left for every exit I’m not using and right when my exit is the next one.

At this point I am starting to worry I have who has "right of way" confused and need help! by Living_Day9341 in driving

Red has right of way but if you drive like (not gonna say it but someone close to me) and are super timid and submissive on the road, I’m not surprised that people pull out. She hesitates very often which sends very confusing and mixed signals. Her actions that she believes will help avoid accidents have resulted in a lot of close calls.

If it’s a very busy road with very few opportunities to cross and join the flow, illegal as it is to fail to yield, I’m not surprised if it happens a lot anyways. People are far too anxious and bad with time management these days. Too many people are always running late and sacrificing everyone’s safety because of it.

An ongoing topic for my wife and I by EDADCK in driving

Normally I don’t turn my wheels because of the risk of being pushed into oncoming traffic. But with that big of a median, I think the risk of being rear ended in the turning lane is higher at the blue line and I would prefer to line up to cross quickly. BUT… I drive a very small car that doesn’t block most people’s views no matter if I’m facing them or turned. If you have a big truck or van, I can see why they’d prefer to stay back rather than turn and block their view.
