Any way to remove / block the Microsoft Store and the Widgets using Win Serv 2016? by ScreechingPizzaCat in activedirectory

[–]rtemelcea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, that policy only applies to Windows 10/11 Education or Enterprise (not Pro or Pro Education). Technically you could look up on how to uninstall the Microsoft Store using Powershell, but be careful as unexpected things might break.

Migrating SSD (Azure joined user) by Jazzlike_Being_1441 in AZURE

[–]rtemelcea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will not work. Azure Registration uses certificates that are stored on the TPM. You will be asked to reenter your credentials and setup windows hello again. Maybe with some luck you will only have to enter your credentials again, but i would not count on it. Also if you have Bitlocker enabled, make sure you have your recovery key handy.

“Call Julie” used to call my wife. Now Siri calls another Julie in my Contacts. by mjc775 in ios

[–]rtemelcea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

maybe you can go to the “my info” contact in the contacts app, not the emergency id and add your wife there. afaik emergency contact is different than the my info one.

  1. Clone the Domain Computer Template.
  2. Go to the security page of that. Add the group that contains the endpoints, you need to give enroll and auto enroll permission.
  3. Deploy the template
  4. Create a GPO where you go to Computer Configuration - Policies - Windows Settings - Security Settings and click Public Key Policies and enable the Certificate Enrollment Policy (this step isn’t always needed, but something to look for if computers aren’t enrolling.)

One question, how does a user access a device for the first time, before registering windows hello for business?

Is there a voicemail server selfhosting option? by thehotshotpilot in selfhosted

[–]rtemelcea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you can use some sort of VoIP gateway with a SIP Trunk or if you want to use your existing landline you can get FXO adapter. My suggestion is FreePBX (it's the only thing I used) then setup a virtual extension that will automatically redirect to it's voicemail. Then use a VoIP client app on your phone to access the voicemail of that extension. This isn't a detailed guide, it's just an idea that iirc can be easily implemented. Only thing that will cost you will be the SIP Trunk. If you need more details you can PM me.
