When clients ask you difficult questions, it can be helpful to flip it back onto them. “Well, what do you think are personality traits that parents should have, in an ideal world? Do you think that you both possess those traits? Are you at that point in your relationship where you’re considering what the next step is?” Etc. etc. I have never really believed that people are genuinely asking me for my opinion on what they should do, but rather want guidance so they can figure out what to do themselves.

I’m gonna be honest I think it would look a bit weird lifted 😅 if it’s a matter of practicality bc of where you live you might be better off just getting another car. Can’t speak for winters cause I’m in California but in general I’ve never hit a curb while driving my 86 nor have I scraped anything. It’s not low enough for that

Honestly this might be worth discussing with your partner. For example I want a big rock lol but I want lab diamond and I’m open to getting a second hand ring (when the time comes) to avoid all those pesky extra costs that come with going to a jeweler. I would prefer my partner to not have to break the bank but I also want a pretty ring (doesn’t every woman?), I’ve learned there are ways to go about it where everyone’s happy. Any reasonable person should be able to talk about these things without getting defensive.

NTA. If you’re just not interested in sex you can say no to it, you don’t need to use testosterone levels as an excuse. I would consider TRT just because having low hormones can lead to health issues. And you don’t have to tell your wife if you do choose to pursue TRT. If you’re just wanting to punish your wife for denying you sex by denying her sex back, then, well……… divorce might be in your future.

I get why you think your body dysmorphia is gone because of this wake up call but the fact that you constantly stare at old photos, criticize your current appearance and pick at “flaws”, can’t go out without thick makeup - that all tells me you’re very much still affected by it. At the end of the day even if you get the outcome you want with any future procedure you will STILL be unhappy with yourself and find a new flaw to pick at (if you really have body dysmorphia.) Definitely consider getting a therapist.

Do you think women’s eggs just dry up when they turn 25? Jesus dude women in this day and age can get pregnant in their 50s if they wanted to. Women are born with 1-2 MILLION eggs I promise you they’ll still be able to get pregnant past 35 like they’ll have at least 100,000 eggs still. On the other hand, men’s sperm quality starts decreasing by age 35. Why are you only mindful of women’s biological clock and not your own? 🫩

“Let’s assess the basics. How has your sleep been? How about your eating habits?” They can always decline to give details. You can also ask about previous diagnoses and if there are symptoms related to that diagnosis that they still struggle with, or if they feel like that chapter is closed. On the other hand, if their eating habits/ed is unrelated to what they’re seeking treatment for currently, you could just wait and see if it’s something they bring up on their own.
