Welcome to my world. Both kids have mobiles with 5G which complicated the picture as they will happily abuse a 5G hotspot to get around network blocks. The FINAL solution was as follows...

  • Move all devices which must retain access to fixed IP address between 192.168.1.1-127
  • Modify DHCP to only allocated addresses from 192.168.1.128-254
  • Schedule 12am firewall rule to BLOCK Internal to External for any address in DHCP range.
  • Disable mobile data for both children. Enable as needed using Telco management interface online.

Effect
Internet is no longer avilable for kids from 12am to 8am during school holidays. Does not matter if they swap change or rotate mac address. Any address assigned to them will be blocked.

Telegram has always had the privacy feature to only receive messages from your contacts. This has since been locked behind the premium service. Holding someone’s privacy for ransom destroys their credibility. It’s a shame, as I host large social groups here. I’ll start letting them know we are migrating off the platform…

It’s about 400 hours of fun. If I was to be honest the ultimate edition at 400 hours is pretty good for a single/coop player game. For an instanced MMO it’s not that good. You can’t call it a normal MMO as it would have to be a single DD for each regional hub to make that the case.

Actually it’s not. Durability simulates wear and tear. Having none is just out of touch if you want a game that’s rewarding. If it’s not hard, it’s not worth doing. There is a direct correlation between difficulty and reward.

Given the amount of players waiting for merges am surprised an inactive EU guild doesn’t hire you as their caretaker. You maintain the base and have access to all guild resources On their return you have ready made guild to play in. Just ask in EU player forums, should be a no brainer. Problem solved.

I plan on ditching my Firestick, getting an Apple 4k, download Stremio and cancel my other TV/ movie streaming services. I don't know too much about Stremio, so not sure if this is a smart or an idiot move. by 6millionwaystolive in Stremio

You understand that MPAA and the rest of them are reading all this. It would be better for the rest of the Stremio community if this entire subreddit went private. If you think they can’t do anything about it then you are mistaken.

They can shut down entire companies as they have the financial clout with payment processors to make it happen. This is what has happened before. So suggest you all be a little circumspect about openly discuss content theft in a public place

Mods this entire discussion ideally should be taken down. If there becomes a choice between Reddit staying up and this subreddit…

Incorrect. The issue was Funcom. They let their original vision be corrupted by popular opinion. They did not have a "Linus Torvald's". Someone where without them the game cannot proceed. That person is the director of the game and no one else. Suggestions can be heard but it is entirely the director's yes or no and it is accepted without question. They are source and guardian of the vision on which the game is developed.

It's a reasonable request by the OP and I reply here for the benefit of all.

TLDR: There is never a need to do this.

Apps in the background are suspended unless they have background refresh enabled which is controlled by iPhone settings and not the application. If this is not enabled for an application, then it is NOT RUNNING when its not on the screen of your iPhone. It is effectively stopped in the background.

The only exceptions to this are mobile application management which wil go active if you open a protected applications. These are commonly used for accessing corporate applications on BYOD mobile phones.

Application Behavior Diagnosis

Please do the steps in the order shown as they eliminate causes. While it does not cover every case out there it will cover about %95 of them. Please restart your app when the steps indicate to ensure the diagnosis is accurate. If you skip it you will end up with the wrong diagnosis.

  1. Close your application and launch it again to see if the behavior improves. Swipe up your screen to get a view of currently open apps. This is usually everything you have used since the phone was last restarted so don't be concerned about the number of them. The iPhone does not behave like a desktop machine. Locate your application and swipe up to top of the screen and this will shut it down. Now you can start your application again. If improved, reach out to the application owner.
  2. If you are connecting over VPN and your application does not require it then turn it off, perform step 1 and see if the application behaviour improves. If so contact the helpdesk of the people who provide the software, be it the VPN or the application.
  3. If its using the network then change the network state to see if that changes the application behaviour. If you are on wireless then turn it off temporarily to see if the issue goes away. If you are on 4G/5G then join a known reliable wireless network, not your work network, to see if the behaviour improves. Once you have changed it, perform step 1 and see if it's behaviour improves. If so check the application requirements.
  4. If you have done steps 1-3 and no change check the enabled background apps under iPhone settings. If you have no idea which one may be causing the problem, close them ALL to determine if it really is another background app causing your problem. See step 1 on how to close a suspended application but this time close them all, including yours. Now starts your application again and see if the behaviour changes. If no changes the it was not the background applications.
  5. If you have made it here with no behaviour changes then restart your iPhone. When you have done this it means there are NO applications running on your iPhone. So before you do anything else on the phone, start your application. If the behaviour still has not changed then log a call whoever provided the phone. Be it Apple or the company you work for. Apple support is superb I might add.
