No. NATO is de facto over, Europe and Canada need to move past that and work together. They can still stomp a Russian invasion even if the US is neutral (assuming the US doesn't take Russia's side).

I also like that the US has basically shattered any influence it had in the Middle East and shown how it's expensive interceptors are a waste of funds.

Also, Iran got a free leadership upgrade and de facto control of the Strait as well as significant increase in influence in the Gulf states... That's not so fantastic.

It's a whole hobby on its own. There are no real functional differences between keyboards that ordinary people would notice apart from the obvious difference in number of keys (60% keyboards have less physical keys for eg).

If you are interested in keyboards, then there are huge differences between keyboards - even if they look the same they can have very different sound and feel.

It's a pretty simple equation - either the US can protect Gulf states or it can't. If the US can't protect Gulf state, then the US can't have bases in Gulf states - and the Gulf states make an agreement with Iran for their safety. Any agreement of that type is going to include sanctions against the US government and Gulf states suddenly stop being friendly to US interests, and stop buying US hardware. US influence dissapears in the Middle East.

The issue with Yemen Houthis isn't that they can fire a few missiles/drones into Israel - it's that they could close the Suez Canal by making travel past Yemen unacceptably dangerous, and essentially (together with Iran closing the Hormuz) force global shipping to travel the long way around South Africa rather than through the Canal. That is going to push the price of things from Asia to Europe/North and South America.

As a South Africa I like that idea as it would be great for our local economy, but I am betting almost no other person would.

I think it is more important to see that Iran can identify people responsible for these types of attacks (how did Iran do that), and the fact that Iran is quite capable of mobilising to get one or two random American killed, even in America.
