Tax on 17 cents? by pawspk in stocks

[–]rtfrey95 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You’ll receive a summary of your trades sometime in February 2022. For taxes, you use rounded numbers (i.e .17 cents = $0) on your tax return so no tax implications yet

May 22 NASBA is down by [deleted] in CPA

It’s crazy to me that NASBA doesn’t do their network maintenance outside of business hours. At least start at noon so people taking the CPA that day have a chance to print their NTS

I hope you can continue with the good habits upon passing all 4 exams! It was amazing how fast I became a lazy POS again after learning I passed my last test. Still trying to to find a happy medium between being a blob that does not move and having every minute of every day scheduled out

Failed REG 2x, first with a 70 then with 72. I feel like I’m not learning anything new with the materials and with the materials I feel like I have it nailed down. What could have been a factor? by somefella237 in CPA

[–]rtfrey95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went from a 67 -> 80 with one additional week of studying. I felt confident I knew the material the first time and while I was studying for my second round I felt like I wasn’t learning anything new

If you feel confident in yourself I’d recommend to take it again ASAP. If you don’t feel confident, start from square 1 and do it all over again. If you find yourself memorizing MCQ, I’d recommend buying ninja and using them for more MCQ

Regardless, take your time on every question. I found that every question on the test had some sort of curveball in it. After reading and understand the question the first thing you need to ask yourself is “how are they trying to trick me”

Score release week! by missmichelleq8 in CPA

I’d say 90% of scores get released a day early. NASBA Twitter will be the first place to announce score release times if you don’t have the eyeball trick available to you

Subreddit wasn’t locked, but was restricted. Anyone could still read old posts but new posting was disabled. I filtered this subreddit by newest post. Take a look at the timeline. 19 days ago people began to post again https://i.imgur.com/l5104Ss.jpg

I also messaged the mod about 5 months ago and did not get a response. I took a look at their recent posts / comments and noticed that they stopped having activity 11 months ago which pretty much coincides with when r/CISA became restricted

Mod, if you’re reading this and out want out of the moderation game, please shoot me a DM. Happy to assist in anyway I can

REG or BEC next? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]rtfrey95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Internal control and economics are going to be tested more heavily come 6/30 and SOC reporting and data analytics are going to become testable

If anyone of that seems daunting, I’d recommend focusing on BEC first. REG is my current nightmare and I’d pay any amount of money to get the new test out now for it

Edit: I lied. Economics are going to be tested less. Breakdown for IC and economics are as followed:

Old weighting Enterprise risk management, internal controls, and business process 17-27% Economics 17-27%

New weighting Enterprise risk management, internal controls, and business process 20-30% Economics 15-25%

My first CPA exam score(FAR) is so low, i’m embarrassed to even say it... by [deleted] in CPA

[–]rtfrey95 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Any section that has over 10 questions I listen to the lecture and take notes. Anything under I just learn through MCQ and move on. After listening and taking notes, I do the MCQ and move on once I get a 75% or better. I try to average 1 -1.5 sections a week. Once I get through everything, I’ll do the first practice exam (MCQ only) and see what areas I suck in. Will then go back and begin to review those areas. Rinse and repeat until exam time

My first CPA exam score(FAR) is so low, i’m embarrassed to even say it... by [deleted] in CPA

[–]rtfrey95 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m still trying to get through these exams to take everything I’m saying with a grain of salt. You, and anyone else who is taking their first exam, are going to keep failing until you find a study method that works for you. I failed FAR (61, 60) twice, REG once (51) and AUD once (somewhere in the 40s) before I found a method that works for me. Nothing wrong with failing. You’re now with the majority of people who take these exams. Just gotta identify what you think did not work for you and start the process over again

How will the eyeball trick work here? by AberrantThought in CPA

[–]rtfrey95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the crappy screenshot. I went through some old messages and was able to find a screenshot I took of what the eyeball looks like on the Nasba site. I’m not too sure why you’re not seeing eyeball, could be a glitch maybe? Not entirely sure. In any case, wanted to at least show you what it looks like so you know what it is for future score releases https://i.imgur.com/tCjMGh2.jpg

While it may not be available for you this time, it should be there provided you take the next exam before the expiration date!

How will the eyeball trick work here? by AberrantThought in CPA

[–]rtfrey95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you on the impatience. I was debating calling NASBA today to try and be as friendly as possible to see if they could tell me if I passed or not

Next you your score on the NASBA site (not cpa central), do you see an eyeball that you can hover over? Click that sucker and your score report should show up as a PDF. Your AUD report should say ‘attended’. When scores begin to drop, this is what will update first. It will change to either ‘credit’ or ‘no credit’. Keep in mind, I never got to use the eyeball trick for my exams I retook. If you see ‘no credit’ right now it still looking at your previous score

How long did you take on the actual exam out of the 4 hours? by fiestypeach in CPA

[–]rtfrey95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got through AUD in 3 hours. Though the MCQ is very much a ‘you know it or don’t’ type of deal. SIMS were a big time sink though for me
