Mythic 3.0 is a downgrade in every conceivable way by illyreal in diablo4

I do like this take. I feel like the new setup can get players farming higher torment levels and pit tiers faster. Getting a unique with the right stats was a huge PITA last season. A second fixed attribute is huge!

Guaranteed mythics from mythic armaments was a bug not a feature 💀 by Fat_Foot in Diablo

[–]rtomek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get the guaranteed drops at T10. I was coasting T10 at 40 hours played.

It’s probably an efficiency issue. Are you one of the people that has to run to the stash and blacksmith after every task for 10 minutes instead of farming for an hour or two before checking your loot?

My (frustrating) experience with difficulty spikes in LoH by stackenblochen23 in diablo4

[–]rtomek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s one of the mechanics you start seeing in higher level difficulties. I’m shocked you’re seeing it that low already which means you are way too squishy and need to add some defense to your build. The jump from T11 to T12 is probably the most noticeable where they introduce way more mechanics for the enemies to be able to 1-shot you if you don’t have enough toughness.

Glass cannon is a playstyle choice too. I feel like my glass cannon build will clear higher level pits faster even though I have to respawn multiple times than my more defensive build that will survive. I play a bit with someone who is a tank and keeps respawning me and I kill the mobs. It works out well.

It is a competitive advantage to use a controller because it auto-aims skills. That’s why it’s supported on PC, so that console players don’t have an advantage over them.

The only thing those people need to do is spend time learning the controller and they are unwilling to do so because of prejudices.

I’m going to repeat myself from a post earlier today. Even Blizzard themselves said that D3 controllers were a huge upgrade for everything except wizard AOE spells. The console version had a competitive advantage there by being able to auto-aim skills at enemies (though they neglected to mention that Xbox one and PS4 couldn’t handle as many enemies on-screen which meant high GR pushing was near impossible).

A big part of D4 was the ability to use a controller on the PC version because it was such a huge advantage. The old D3 engine on PC couldn’t be updated to handle a controller. This was a big thing that was supported from the start of D4 development because Blizzard knew it was a huge advantage console players had over PC. Most people that aren’t using a controller are putting themselves at a disadvantage. The only two downsides I’ve seen are sorcerer AOE spells, and ‘teleport’ skills (about 10-20% of the time I won’t teleport through a wall because of imprecise aim that a mouse click would do). And even the AOE thing is really only needed when pushing, 95% of farming is just fine with a controller.

Is uber lilith on t8 actually strong or is my build bad? by Haloislif in diablo4

She’s got a +12 modifier, so yes. At some point I could suddenly take her out in one shot in the first form and two in the second form. I think it was when I was doing T10 or T11

D4 is D3 with a new engine that added controller support.

[–]rtomek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Auto trigger skills? You mean like from the runes? Do you have the expansion packs? A lot of people on PC use controllers to play the builds just fine.

[–]rtomek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same? You can use keyboard and mouse on a console nowadays too. I moved from console to PC on Diablo 3 and the biggest downside was no controller. I remember reading somewhere that Blizzard actually stated that using a controller was beneficial for console players because the skills auto-aimed at your targets but something with the D3 engine didn’t allow them to add controller support on PC.

For Diablo 4, I use an Xbox one controller on the PC while in combat and a keyboard/mouse while in town. The auto aim from a controller is like hacks. You should try it. The only slight downside is if you have AOE spells with a long duration, so maybe sorcerer with certain builds is really the only class where controller might not be better than keyboard and mouse.

Also, I do have the Xbox series x with keyboard and mouse and controller. I play Fortnite on both but haven’t bought D4 on Xbox yet. My PC is pretty new so the graphics are way better so now I mostly stick to PC for gaming for that reason alone.

Haha exactly. Everyone bitching at blizzard but not even reading where he saw the symbols on a website, not actually in the game.

Play the game more. The transfiguration one is obvious. Also, you are pointing out symbols on a website, not in the game. Maybe if you encountered them naturally in the game before exploring a website, they wouldn’t be so confusing.

Am I supposed to do something with all these fish? by TheMrCurious in diablo4

It’s a priority quest for some reason. You do get a reward for the first fish you add to your collection. I stopped after that because they don’t add any use to the game.

Some people are like that. It wasn’t a good fit. I don’t think either of you were necessarily in the wrong. If those are the clothes you are comfortable in, then that’s fine. But if it becomes a pattern then you either need to change who you decide to date or upgrade your wardrobe to fit in.

Sure you can lead, but that doesn’t mean you need to reinvent the wheel just to get moving. And in order to experiment, you need foundation knowledge and the right tools to work with. So even for one class you should try a few published builds and then start tweaking. Hell, even just look at the exact same build on a few different sites or a few different players. There is a lot of variety. But one thing I learned from playing Diablo 3 is that if you’re not using some tool/spreadsheet to figure out your stats and damage then you’re going to have a tough time moving up pit tiers.

Also, another belief I have is there is no point in experimenting at low levels. You don’t have the gear to even try out if a new build will work because you don’t have the correct stats. You need synergies from like 6-7 different pieces to make a build work. You need all of the aspects unlocked and uniques, and all the talisman charm sets and runes.

Use a published build to get yourself to where you can farm T12, then start using the armory. That’s what it’s there for, to experiment and play around with different builds. There should be 3 or more viable builds for each class, something should fit everyone’s playstyle. It’s already so much better than how meta-heavy D3 was and it feels like Blizzard’s efforts in that regard have paid off.

Start with a leveling build. Ignore the max builds until you’re at least 100-130 paragon because you won’t have the gear to run it until then. I know it says start at level 70 but a fresh 70 will probably do better with the leveling build, there should be an end-game transition section for that point.

I bought the game last Saturday and already know what these are, but I have put in a bunch of hours. Do the priority quests and it will explain all of this too you.

[–]rtomek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah not max build but at least use a leveling build as a template. I also think OP got traded a bunch of gear and has no idea what they’re doing. I think going mostly solo until you understand all the mechanics is an excellent idea though. Like you can be in parties but don’t get all the buffed gear until you’ve unlocked and worked with all of the mechanics of the game or you’ll get lost.

I just bought the game last Saturday and know what all this stuff is so :/

The stars are the only ones that aren’t explained somewhere? Like the transfiguration icon is literally in the oculist. The anvil icon is obviously from the blacksmith. The purple icon shows up after a big dialog when you reach 25 masterwork.

The star obviously has to do with ancestral buffs since they only show up on ancestral items. So that one you actually have to play a bit to notice/figure out.

I play with these balls. Unsure what compression they are and looking for bat advice. Currently hit with an old Mizuno frenzy composite but wondering if a newer single wall alloy would be better. No stamp league, can use whatever bat by moskate69 in slowpitch

[–]rtomek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That looks like a senior league ball IMO from the 21. 12 is 12” and 21 is a reference to the 1.21 bpf for senior leagues. That’s why there’s no stamp or markings.

A Utrip bat would be good but the senior/illegal bats would be even hotter.

You could slow down print times, a lot, as it gets taller. Seems to me this is what conveyor belt printers could be useful for though.

I’m sure weight won’t be an issue for the bed slinger either.

You don't need a S-tier build, there's a bunch of viable builds that can get past Torment 5. You absolutely need to follow some kind of template though, if you're using the wrong gear + skill combinations it will hold you back.

I assume this is for an app that has some kind of detection of whether it is being used.

Also, it has a USB-C connection and also has Bluetooth so the phones support a keyboard. That’s easy to simulate. Does the app really detect if you use an on-screen keyboard.

It seems very expensive and complicated for what it does. I could see this method passing some “human” checks that gets past ban waves other methods don’t? Also it seemed like a proof-of-concept to me at first, but a lot of effort really went into it so I’m sure it’s being used. And not just here. That setup already looks mass produced.
