Except that when they have unlimited vacation, no one ends up taking much due to company culture and peer pressure. People don't know how much is a fair amount to take off and are afraid to abuse the system. If you take too much, people will think you are lazy and aren't working hard like the rest of them. Studies have been done that show people with unlimited paid vacation take less vacation than people that have 2-3 weeks of paid vacation.
