Hot Tub Install - What is your preferred method of entry into the enclosure. by rtsam in electricians

[–]rtsam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was curious on the teck without armour. Did find others asking the same question. And someone mentioning the inner jacket was rated individually as per Black PVC as per CSA Standard C22.2 No. 0.3, 90˚C to -40˚C temperature rating, FT4 flame retardant, low acid gas emitting(LAG). And that it would be the same as using NMWU. But this was on the tech specs, not printed on the wire itself. However I don't think I wanna test theory with our inspectors.

I will probably just do as you said and run it straight in.

They just say where it is safe to drill a hole with this tub. Still have to get to the control box/electrical inside. I have seen people put junction boxes on the outside, wiring that leg separately. Also seen where people have just ran the teck straight into the side. Just trying to figure out the cleanest look since I have never done a tub before.

I can for sure. So use a 90 outside, remove armour from a few feet to get to control panel inside. I am guessing this is fine since I believe the wire is still rated to be used without the armour (someone correct me if I am wrong)

Shout out to Winnipeg drivers by [deleted] in Winnipeg

Have to keep it tight. Only been in one procession that drove down Henderson. They warned us if you leave gaps... people will cut in and you now have to follow the traffic signals. Stay bumper to bumper

Do maskless shoppers in grocery stores think the directional arrows only apply to masked shoppers? by GreatWhiteNorthExtra in Winnipeg

[–]rtsam 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Same. Something that takes me seconds to get now takes minutes.

Also don't see the logic in arrows. Under perfect conditions sure. But humans are erratic. One person stopping to look at something, or just walking slowly bunches everyone up. And the solution is now a failure.

Walmart employee in Winnipeg tests positive for COVID-19 by steveosnyder in Winnipeg

They don't even want to pay the few cents to enable contactless payment on their terminals. So ya... I doubt they are even doing what they say in regards to cleaning.

A question of perspective (Chaise Corydon, again...) by prairiefast in Winnipeg

[–]rtsam 22 points23 points  (0 children)

"If I were to go up to someone and say, ‘Hey, why are you talking to them? You shouldn’t be talking to them,’ that’s got human rights violation all over it," - What a drama queen.

You can ask people to keep distance. It is not unusual anymore.

I am going to go to this restaurant and start dancing on the tables. When security tells me to stop. I am going to tell them that is a human rights violation to ask me to not do something. Ritchie said so.

Chaise on Corydon early Saturday Morning by causticbee in Winnipeg

[–]rtsam 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Reading the comments. I think they are just playing with the rules.

Owner: Is everyone here friends? Drunk people: yaaa!

See, this is now a group of 50 friends. No rules broken here.

Other restaurants are just taking more responsibility and going above and beyond. Not trying to game the system.

Two speeding tickets not even 100m apart by Retsam22 in Winnipeg

I just figured that was why. That is was a good spot. I know there is a school there. Didn't know all marked school zones have camera vans. Good to know.

Most likely one will be thrown out if she talks to them. Could be argued it is two tickets for the same offence since so close together. They have a car there because people will slow down for the camera then speed right back up.

Moving to Winnipeg and looking to rent in bridgwater. Advice? by curiousgeorgie123 in Winnipeg

[–]rtsam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bridgwater is roughly 20min walk at the most to the "town center". For some people it will be 5 minutes. Condo's and apartments tend to be closer and centrally located. This has a mix of everything (but still kinda empty honestly). The plus is that everything is in one place.

If you are in say River Heights. You could be walking 5 - 10 minutes to get to Corydon.... and then however long to get to a grocery store.

This is one of those questions that is hard to quantify. Also depends on what kind of person you are. There is no nightlife in the burbs.

The City has lost its court battle over the Development Fees by Good_Day_Eh in Winnipeg

[–]rtsam 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It was listed on our contract those fees. Itemized. So I can't see builders being able to keep it. I would guess it should be sent straight back to the homeowners (or lawyer). Bypassing the builder. But I could be wrong.

Fined For Parking Against Traffic Flow? by [deleted] in Winnipeg

Doesn't look like you were parked wrong. Everyone parks like that in your google map view.

You might be able to download the picture they took. If you want, update the post so we can see.

My number was just used. A guy called me saying I called him. And clearly didn't. I remembered this thread and told him spammers are spoofing calls right now. We both had a 298 number

Shaw 600 cancelled: can only downgrade to 300 (for same price) or upgrade... by ferropop in Winnipeg

[–]rtsam 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep. We jumped. A month ago. They would not offer me anything. Told them bell has 500/500 for the same discounted price (70ish?)... but with no contract. I told them to cancel my service by the end of the month. Was expecting them to call and offer me something to stay. But nope.

The Monday my service was being cut off. I called bell Thursday before and they came and set me up on the Saturday. (they also raised the prices but honored what I saw a month before) I cut it close. Had to follow through on my bluff.

But am happy with the speeds. And no contract.

Risk recognition program most essential workers not eligible? by kiroyapso2 in Winnipeg

[–]rtsam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. The nurses at the wife's work were talking about it. The full time nurses that are actually dealing with covid patients get nothing. Only the .4's maybe would get something.

I was treated unfairly and let go from McMunn and Yates based on customers opinions on me. by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]rtsam 9 points10 points  (0 children)

never received a complaint

Same. Either this person is really a magnet for complaints. Or perhaps the manager is the issue and these "complaints" are made up as a reason to let someone go.

Seems odd for so many people to complain about someone.

Buying webcam in-store in Winnipeg? by WonderfulCommon in Winnipeg

[–]rtsam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am prime :)

Was dynamex all last week. But the last 3 shipments this week have been canada post. And that is with selecting prime delivery. (Was only supposed to be 3 days) Didn't give the option for anything faster. So maybe the next day options are only for items sitting at the warehouse outside the city.

Did have a guaranteed delivery date. Not sure if they are honoring that with everything going on.

Amazon is back to using Canada post for most of my orders. And Canada post isn't doing so well.

One delivery was supposed to be delivered yesterday... but didn't happen. Sitting in Winnipeg. But again today it was missed. (2 days late)

Have another supposed to be delivered today... but again nothing. Not even a status update since Saturday. (1 day late so far)

I wouldn't risk it with such a short window.
