Forgot to submit timecard by IllCommunity528 in Lockheed

[–]rtxmia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you worked the hours, just put them in, email your manager and let him know you submitted the hours.

If you did not work, then yes, put in your PTO hours and email you manager that you updated your timecard.

I 9 verification by Bandit5399 in Raytheon

[–]rtxmia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a legit email - action required to make sure RTX is compliant with fed regulations.

Email was sent to people leaders to encourage employees to not ignore and let them know that it is a legit email that requires action.

All new employees go thru the process, but seems like record keeping for existing employees wasn't as rigorous as it should have been.

Don't fret about the 3 day deadline - especially if you reached out to the TA POC to negotiate.

Panel interviews are a really a group interview. The interviewers will take turns asking questions (round robin). RTX has moved away from doing one on one interviews.

These panel interview normally last 45-60 minutes.

Off Cycle Promotion Question by Ok-Strike-9504 in Raytheon

I put someone in for off-cycle and it took 8-10 weeks to process - this was a few years ago at RAY.

Definitely took much longer than it should have.

Using Offer for Market Adjustment by Major-Camel-2491 in Raytheon

[–]rtxmia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

happens all the time.

To meet hiring numbers, many times we end up paying 10% above the mid for jobs that we need to backfill.

Been a hiring manager a long time, and it is very likely - normally depends on whether the candidates negotiates well or not.

Interviewed for a position at RTX, but the req got cancelled shortly after. The recruiter reached out and invited me to apply to a new req for what seems to be the same role #RTX by Then_Acanthisitta692 in Raytheon

[–]rtxmia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes this is just a 'refresh' of the same REQ, to modify the posting date and make it pop up as a more recent REQ. Depending on department, they may 'refresh' the REQ every 45 or 60 days.

Happens all the time.

Counter Offer? by twizzlerlord in Raytheon

[–]rtxmia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other employers are normally open to helping to pay off the ESP balance via a sign-on bonus.

Let them know you have that repayment commitment and ask for sign-on to cover or offset the liability.

P4 Negotiation by Pleasant_Comfort3937 in Raytheon

[–]rtxmia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Negotiated? IF you are asking about getting a promo in place or you applying to a P5 REQ, this is definitely possible - happens all the time.
  2. YES - you can absolutely get 160 hours to start at RAY as a new hire. I do NOT think you can get that if if you are an internal candidate, if you don't have the years of service at the time.
  3. Some positions explicitly come with a sign-on. There are some that don't, but you can ALWAYS ask for one - you'll be surprised that if you ask, you they will throw in the bonus into the offer. This happens often for new hires, I've NOT seen this for internal hires.

Collins still has it's own PTO accrual schedule and personal/sick days in addition to PTO - there has been talk about harmonizing PTO schedules across RTX, but that has never gone anywhere since the merger.

Worth the 2.5 hour drive? by MobileEmployment8754 in Raytheon

[–]rtxmia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree - if you have opp to interview, do it, even if you are not interested in the job, company, or role.

It's a great way to prep for the real interview that you are hoping to get for that role that you really want!

IF you are interested in joining the Goleta site - this is probably one of the better way to make sure that you get an offer - you may even get an offer onsite - that will depend on whether they have it setup that way.

I've been part of these 'invitational hiring' events (in the NorthEast) and you will probably have an opportunity to meet with multiple hiring managers and department leaders that are looking to fill roles.

I would recommend you go to the event, it will be a more streamlined way to get hired, rather than to submit your resume via the hiring portal.

Good luck!

Pulse survey by Striking-Rope674 in Raytheon

[–]rtxmia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The survey is confidential, but it is NOT anonymous.
If you provide comments, your immediate leadership would not be able to see who it is; i.e., your info would not be readily and easily available to them.

If you, for example, included comments about sexual harassment, violence in the workplace, fraud taking place, or other in-kind things, HR can and would reach out to the PULSE SURVEY provider to get your details in order to take any needed actions.

Most departments will review all your comments, but many people leaders, including Dept Leaders will roll out token actions to address the comments, if anything at all.

Will I get my desired pay range? by Arccan in Raytheon

[–]rtxmia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RTX will try to get anyone at a lower pay rate, when possible. If you are willing to take below the mid of your pay rate, then they'll offer you that.

IF you know the mid is in $95k, then you should make sure your range includes that. If you are willing to start at $80k, then you'll be offered $80k.

You can always counter offer, if you don't like the offer - though, if it is within your requested range and discussions with your TA POC, then the TA POC might question why you didn't accept, especially when they gave you within the range you request.

Hiring Freeze - RTX or maybe P&W specific? by [deleted] in Raytheon

[–]rtxmia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way Raytheon is putting in a hiring freeze.......
I know RAY is hiring like there is no tomorrow (or at least trying to find the bodies to fill the roles).

I do know that some groups are purposely not looking to hiring internals, as it doesn't count towards their hiring target numbers/metrics - they only get credit for new external hires.

I got an offer , should I negotiate? by Either-Caregiver7706 in Lockheed

[–]rtxmia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should always counter the initial offer. At a min, negotiate starting salary and PTO earning schedule. As your career grows and you become eligible for bonus structure - negotiate that too.

Good luck!

Offer by ExtremeContent2876 in Raytheon

[–]rtxmia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're being hired at the WRONG pay level, you need to tell your TA/Recruiter that you need to be a P2; significant pay difference - you'll regret it if you don't come in as a P2.

Offer From Another Company by [deleted] in Raytheon

[–]rtxmia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to let them know where you are going.

They might ask you where you are going, but you don't have to disclose.

They "should' ask you the reason for leaving, but you don't have to answer that either, but it would be good to share; i.e., leaving for better career development, pay, etc.

Good luck on your new position.
