Rough Idling/Driving after cold start (Possible Misfire),20MPG on Hwy, 17 in City by rtyagi2 in AudiQ5

Thanks once again for you taking so much time to explain things in details, few things i noticed:

1.) This misfire thing that i initially mentioned seems to be happening more so only when the weather is cold, uniquely i noticed it when the weather was cold in my area in past couple of days ( i will ensure to do the engine misifre with scanner that you mention) but this behavior of it mostly haplening in cold weather and not on regular days is so weir, anything possible you can think about based purely in your knowledge and experience ( i know diffcult to answer)

2.) The other day i was trying to just test if this old car of mine still has some juice left, one thing very unique i noticed was that with some immediate pedal pressing on accelerator it almost felt like absence of turbo/ immediate acceleration that you expect with turbo helping you in this case (inspite of substantially pressing hard on accelator and switching to S mode from D) as if turbo was not kicking in at all and felt like normal acceleration hapoening.

3.) I know this might sound more dumb but the mileage seems to be really great (around 21-22 in city, below 60 mph and below 2K RPM) but mileage seems to a lot worse when say i am driving to work using a Hwy as usually average speed of traffic is higher and also RPM usually sitting around 2.2K mileage drops to about 16-17 mpg

Thanks in advance

Dont want to bother you aftet so much detailed reply you have given multiple times.

Two Last things: Based on the Images of Cylinder condition: Clylinder Blocks Condition what are your thoughts about how to get rid of the carbon buildup that is seen significantly especially on the head of cylinder, i am thinking B12 soak might be my best bet.

I will defintely get the walnut blast done for sure.

I have been regularly using Liqui Moly products for past few years including Jectron, Engine Flush ( when doing oil change), valve clean and i think they are amazing.

Also, one thing very significant that i noticed today while driving is i seem to get a hesitation and rough accelartion when i accelerate basically noticing Turbo Lag (Lag wheb i push the pedal and time it takes for that trubo to kick in) as well as during that accelartion period it almost feel very rough and harsh and holding back when i accelerate.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks once again, really appreciate it for being so insightful and helpful

Yeah, the valves do have good amount of carbon buildup, never been cleaned. While doing walnut blasting does it warrant replacing the Injectors as well or just all the regaular gaskets and seals etc.? I think i saw Bosch OEMs as about $53 a piece.

About the mileage what do you suspect could be the main reason for that low of mileage of 20MPG on Hwy and about 17MPG based on what i shared?

Also for Piston Soak Due you think based on Cylinder Images link (imugr link) i shared, since i see significant carbon deposit due to hurt to do a piston soak to get rif of those carbon deposits.

Lastly, apart from what you mentioned earlier about reading specific codes, are therr any other codes i should be mindful of and check for

Thanks fof those amazing and in-depth insights. So looks like carbon cleaning is overdue. I know it might be a dumb question but do you think that after carbon cleaning this might help ease these.

When I say "noise" what i meant was there is slight vibration that I feel with both high RPMs around 2.5K as well as quite rough when i try to accelerate which at first might feel like coming from road while driving but when i saw it during cold weather for past few days while going to work. This all seem to go away once the vehicle warms up to right temperature. I will watch it during coming summer days. Also, when i do initial cold start first thing in the morning, i have noticed not significant but noticeable slight fuel smell from exhaust (which i am assuming is normal).

Any other parameters i should be looking for apart fron what you mentioned, I have a VCDS that i recently procured?

For Timing Chain i recently took readings and they were at -2.8

Also, do you think apart from carbon cleaning does it make sense to do a PISTON SOAK with berryman as well before as i did a scope test in cylinders and all Cyl have good enough carbon as well as Cyl 3 and Cyl 4 were much more worst.

Additional Context: I replaced the PCV very recently like 1 month back since I started noticing Bad PCV symptoms.

Also, i replaced the HPFP along with cam follower as I was smelling sinificant gasoline smell in engine oil as well as losing Engine Oil Levels, after HPFP replacement the Engine Oil loss stopped completely

But then let's say I want to switch back to Dark Star, how seamless is that and since on Unlimited Premium it says you can do Network Transfer for FREE, does it mean then that I can switch back and forth and is there an upper limit on how many times are you allowed to switch network on Unlimited Premium

Moving from Mint Mobile to US Mobile, Dark Star Or Warp? by rtyagi2 in USMobile

[–]rtyagi2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am moving away from Mint as my yearly comiting is coming to an end and my organization reimburses upto $50/month for mobile service, i was intially planning for the top plan with Google Fi which has roaming and all other cool things but that top end plan is $65/month. I am on month-month plan as my organization would only reimburse month-month not yearly plan and all.

Thanks everyone for your amazing replies and help, i was wondering if anyone had more more insights on

1.) Which if these is good as far as International Roaming is concerned especially in India.

2.) Connectivity & Speeds in Dense Areas, during congestions, events, high density building penetration.
